It's Microfiction Monday over at
stony river. We are invited to write a short, short story in 140 characters or less (including punctuation and spacing).
The King could not keep her from the comfort of memory as she closed her eyes to chase childhood butterflies. She did not hear each brick. Enjoy your Monday!

The power of our minds.... awesome! :O)
Wow...amazing the story you can create in 140 words!
Mind over matter for sure.
Emotional take, tugs at my heart.
Yep, more cheerful than mine, too! Terrific one for the day! Hope you enjoy a great week!

Mind tricks ease our pain sometimes. Poignant MfM this week. Well done!
A very poetic take. "She did not hear each brick." Loved it.
Many days I too would like to 'close my eyes to chase childhood butterflies'! Thanks for this--I loved it, even though it is sad.
Cheers!
Very profound. Sweetly chilling. :O)
Fantastic imagery!!!
Lovely words.
Have a lovely day.
Yvonne.
"wow' is about all I can come up with.
You took me there in 140 characters, and I'm happier for it. Lovely.
Nice take on the photo of the king and the briklayer!
Kelly, this is lovely. You take me so many places with your words. And in 140. You ARE good. Gorgeous pic too. Thanks for spreading your happiness. I needed it.
Wow Kelly - that is not a place I would like to be. You have a real skill for evoking strong feelings!
Thinking of you!
Nicely written. The final line is haunting.
Have a great week.
Intriguing. And very deep - both your words and the photo.
Ah, you focused on her closed eyes-nice job!
Interesting and profound - all in under 140 words!

I think this your best one ever. Well done!
"...comfort of memory..." I really like this phrase. Well done Kelly!
Great take, I enjoyed it!
Glad she had a place of refuge.
Nice MFM
Have a great week

Wonderful take on MM.

To Chase childhood memories marvelous say!!!!!! Loved it :) :)
Love it! I loved the "childhood memories" part. So much said in that one line.
Oh, I loved this. Beautifully done.
You express her powerful longings so well.
I love your take-- it's so poignant.
Love it! Wonderful! Great take!
You're crazy talented!
Big hugs!

I'm betting she can think her way clear of this mess.
thought provoking.
This is beautiful Septembermom. I love the spirit of this woman and the imagery of butterflies.
gorgeous prose for a gorgeous image!
I love the final line...you turn things upside down with it...and I love this sense of defiant independence...extraordinary characterization with just a few words! Bravo!!! ~Janine XO
So much said in a few words. Very well done.
It's interesting to me that every one of these is about the woman being walled in. None is from the perspective of the waller. And none see her as being rescued. Poor girl has no control over her fate :)
Beautifully written, as always. It makes me think of all the wonderful memories that I am also able to cling to.
Wow, this isso very beautiful. Fantastic!
