Kelly Goes Random!

This is my third attempt at a random post today. It seems like there is always someone yelling, "Hey Mom I need..." Now that three of them are happily engrossed in Spongebob's world, I'll hide away in my little corner and type away.

  • Remind me that I can't put off cleaning the deck furniture anymore. I'm missing all these outside dining opportunities. I also need to get the bee guy to come and battle the buzzing acrobats who dive at me whenever I step on the deck.

  • I need to take a picture of me for the blog when my new curly-do is less reminiscent of Kramer from Seinfeld. You should see how wacky it looks after a day outside in the humidity.

  • Jillian said to me this morning, "Mommy, why don't you paint too?" She was looking at all my favorite prints hanging on our walls. I wonder if that would be a good idea. If it looks like finger paint, I could call it abstract. At least, Jillian would be my favorable critic :)

  • I'm still running into non-bloggers who look at me a little funny when I mention that I love to blog. You would think I mentioned something kinky or strange.

  • My house is overrun with dessert choices lately. This is not a good thing for easily tempted me.

  • Did I tell you about how I was hit in the head with a toy watering can at the kiddie pool the other day? Gratefully, I wasn't knocked out cold. That would've been a sight for the town.

  • I have one teenager in the house, but I feel like my other three kiddos are in teen training. Is a typical teen attitude contagious?

  • I braided the hair of some of Jillian's dolls. It was an hour long event.

  • Take this advice from me: Don't chase after a 10 year in 90 degree heat. I should have listened to my husband who watched from his cool seat inside.

  • Well, the cordless phone almost fell on my little one's head. She's crying now, so off I go to comfort her. I bet she'll bring in more Barbies for hairstyling. I won't make them look like Kramer!
See you all soon!

Well the third time's a charm, you got your post written! And I hear you about running around in the 90 degree heat. Be careful tomorrow ... here they're predicting 100! A good day to stay inside in the a/c, it'll be a steamy day. Stay cool ...

I played dolls with my daughter one day and we BOTH loved it and had special times to remember from it. :O)

I know what you mean about blogging....my people don't get it, either.

yes, I think that teenage attitudes are contagious.

Hey, think of all the calories you burned chasing a 10yo around in 90 degree heat. That helps with all the dessert choices, huh?

So is the new curly hair also colored? I want the photo :)

I'm just testing the comments. For some reason, the comments are not appearing for this post.

I envision you comforting Jillian like that painting of Comfort in Love (on the side bar). Randomness is always welcome. And hopefully no more head injuries for anyone the rest of the week.

Good luck with the bees. That do does not sound fun.

Maybe a photo of the Barbie hairstyles to go with yours?

Spend a day in the ac, and then take your picture!
Also, attitudes are totally contagious.
And water painting with Jillian could be really fun!
A very random comment for your rando
post. :)

I know what you mean about the non bloggers - I listened to a rant the other day at work about bloggers and how we don't have a life. My blog is secret from the people at work so I kept my mouth shut while I wanted to scream "so do you think I don't have a life, working, single parenting half the year while my husband travels, taking my kids to this and that activity - apparently thats not a life"

Always love your random posts. Good to hear disaster was averted with watering can and phone. Painting sounds like a marvelous idea! You certainly have a keen eye for works of art...maybe time to put brush to canvas? I'll cheer you on!

Your random posts=a smile on my face. Why? Because then I feel like all my randomness is alright in the world too. I could share some of mine with you, and I'm sure you'd understand exactly what I mean. :)

I can't wait to see your hair. I'm sure it is very cute. Sometimes, we are our worst critics.

I've learned this recently: there are those who blog, those who read blogs, or those do neither that I just mentioned, and yes, it is like speaking a foreign language to those who don't.

Desserts...ahhh. What I wouldn't give to be a guest at your house right now. :)

Oh, and I fully receive that BIG VIRTUAL HUG with open arms. Thanks so much for your kind words, and being such a good friend from afar. Love ya!

I think painting sounds like a brilliant idea. Try it! Painting may be more therapeutic than blogging :) Enjoyed Kelly's randomness today. Hope all is okay with the little one. The heat is killing me...

As always, I love your random lists. Non-bloggers, what is that? :-) And I think it would be great for you and Jillian to take a painting/art class together. I just took Viv and my niece to one of those ceramics painting places. It was a lot of fun!

I just posted my own random post since I don't have the brain or time to do an in-depth one.

good to hear the randomness. 1) I can relate 2) I feel better it's not just me and 3) it's good stuff

Have a great week! :)

I do think non-bloggers think all of us bloggers are strange (including my husband) ... but they just don't know what they are missing!

I love that you braided the hair of dolls for an hour ... what a good mom you are.

here's to more peace and quiet in your day!

My own personal bit of randomness - don't chase any youngster around - convince them to chase you. {*grin*}

My patio furniture needs cleaning too - should I wait for you to do it?

Hi Kelly!

Hope you remember me, Flory :) I should be getting back to blogging soon.

My teenager left home a few weeks ago - staying with his dad until he goes off to college. Anyway, I couldn't wait to get him out since he was driving me crazy. I broke down the day he left and cried for two days straight. It was tough letting him go and realizing that he is now a man. Before, he wouldn't talk to me much, now he calls me all the time to see how I'm doing. I love that boy! :)

I hear you when you say you have all those food temptations hanging around-I don't buy ice cream desserts in the winter, but I have a ton of the things in my freezer right now, and they are calling my name! LOL! Stay strong friend.

I will be right over for some of that dessert. I know what you mean about mentioning a blog...people look at me like I have one eye. Crazy.

I laughed at the strange look you get from non bloggers because I get that too! I can just hear their thoughts in their head as they say, "Oh poor girl, she thinks she's going to be like Perez Hilton." Because that's who they think of when they think blog!

Becca said...

I LOVE reading your random posts! I have gotten similiar reactions when Ive told people I blog. They just don't know what they are missing out on! I hope your head didn't hurt too badly from that gun! You poor thing!!!
