Ten Years From Now: Fantasy vs. Reality

Since I don't want to think about what I need to do ten minutes from now (dishes), I'll jump on Susan's bandwagon and talk about what my life may be like ten years from now.

I thought it would be fun to have two lists: fantasy and reality.

So as I figuratively close my eyes, I'll try to fantasize about what I could be up to in 10 years. Let's pretend that I could possibly be saying these things at the sexy age of 51!
  1. "My abs miraculously tighten overnight."
  2. "My children, I appreciate your gift of this beach house."
  3. "Tell Hugh (Jackman) that I'll be ready for our tennis lesson shortly."
  4. "I just love eating those delicious calorie free chocolate chip muffins!"
  5. "Me? You would like me to read my poetry for the President?"
Well now I'll end my silliness and think about more realistic quotes from me ten years from now.
  1. "You have to strengthen my eyeglasses prescription again???"
  2. "Honey, I'm still waiting for a conversation topic from you."
  3. "My son, please don't tell me that you really got married in Vegas."
  4. "I guess the gray is here to stay. I need my color fix pronto."
  5. "I'm so happy that I self-published my poetry."
That's all I have for this improv post. Now I need to get moving and tackle those dishes.

This is a cute post!! I certainly hope you self publish your poetry which is totally realistic. Writing may be in your future. As to the other things, you never know what can happen. Hope your present and future is bright :)

I don't even want to think of ten years ahead at my age it's quite frightening.

Love your view of things though.

Hilarious! We all need to get lost in our own lost once in a while!

That's good so long as you don't WAIT ten years to self-publish. Even a year not making significant progress is as inconceivable as not washing the dishes for the same period and being 40 love up on Hugh...whoever Hugh is!

I like the humour...don't laugh at my spelling; it's correct this side of the pond!

The reality doesn't sound that bad to me actually!

A fun read and I think all five in the fantasy world is doable realistically. I don't even want to know what awaits me ten years from now. Hopefully it's Kevin Durand and a beach....

You are always so funny! I don't even want to think about what will be going on 10 years from now. The last 10 years have not exactly been a bed of roses, I can definitely tell you that. So, I am hoping and praying that the next 10 will be a GREAT BIG improvement!

I hope you're having a wonderful week. I'm sad, so very, very sad. Please keep praying for me.

Love it! You just keep doing what you're doing, and you most certainly WILL self-publish your works. Thanks so much for your kind words and support. They brought me to tears. (The happy ones, though.) :)

Kelly, I think the first list is the one you'll be living in 10 years time! Especially the reading your poetry to the President!

PS Tried numerous times to submit a poem on your Friday poetry post on Write with Pictures. Just wouldn't accept the post so here is the poem that your photo inspired in me:

Fingers of fir touch
Molten gold, melting the day
Into a velvet night
