Father's Day

My Dad used to say to me, "Fight the dragons inside." Often, I find myself hearing his voice whispering this advice to me as I fall into self-doubt or worry.

My Dad introduced me to the writing and philosophy of Thomas Merton. There are countless Merton quotes that I could have shared with you today. I decided to choose this one because I can hear my Dad's voice in the quote.

"Perhaps I am stronger than I think." - Thomas Merton

I love you Dad. I miss you. I know that you're watching over us.

Happy Father's Day to all you wonderful fathers! Hope that you enjoy your special day :)

I would like to also send out a HUGE Father's Day hug to my awesome husband who gives so much love to our little gang here. We are all lucky to have you!!

Hey Kelly.. Father's are the most integral part of a woman's life. they are Honestly Unique. and it can never be seen in any other male. trust me on this! you can see a mom in your own female teacher, in your elder sister and in your gran mom and sometimes in your daughter.. but can never see your father anywhere except when you face him.

I lost my dad almost 38 years ago - and I still mis him. I too hear his voice at times. It is comforting. I needed your post to remind of that! I was thinking more about the missing of him - thanks for sharing.

I'm late looking at this post, but wanted to comment anyway. I like the quote. Good dads empower their kids. This quote contains empowering advice. Merton... I may look you up.
