The Simple Things

Yesterday, I had fun with my happy list. Today, I'm following my friend Jenners' lead and writing my simple things list. She invited us to participate in a Simple Things blog party going on today at Soul Aperture, hosted by Christina. For every blog that posts a simple things list today, Christina will donate $1.00 to Doctor's Without Borders Haiti relief efforts. If you would like to participate, just link your post to this post over at Christina's blog.

The Simple Things for Me
  • Chill of the morning air to stir me awake.
  • My 4 year old daughter rubbing her belly as she does her belly dance.
  • Silence at the end of a busy day.
  • A beautiful passage in a book that could bring me to tears.
  • Peace and calm that I feel as I sit in the church pew.
  • My older boys holding the younger ones' hands.
  • That big hug I love to give when I see someone again after a long time.
  • A painting that can transport me for the moment.
  • When I find "me" in my poetry.
  • Two days in row I have to mention chocolate :)
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Hello. I am visiting you today in the wake of Christina's love. Thank you for your list. I love your mention of your children holding hands. Lovely. (And chocolate is always worth mentioning twice!)

What a nice idea. Life is really all about those simple things that mean so much, that we experience every day. Coffee, and smiles, and snowy days. And hey, we can mention chocolate every day ;)

Wow, I love this list. This sounds interesting. Maybe I will check out what others are doing. My favorite line: "A beautiful passage in a book that could bring me to tears."

I feel that way too often while I am reading something. Thanks for the memorable and beautiful list : )

I love your list. Children do give so much pleasure - I treasure all my time with them.
These are lists we can post for ourselves and always be reminded when times are tough.

There's nothing quite like witnessing the love of siblings -- love holding hands!
This list is so reflective of the beautiful you I've come to know and love through your blog.

Excellent list- and of course you had to include chocolate, silly! :)

I love the silence at the end of the day. The house has been (mostly) put back together, everyone is sleeping, and I can just breathe...

The simple things - how wonderful. Your 4 year old sounds so sweet. I love that stuff. My little girl caresses my face, and my boy hums while puts his nose next to mine. Enjoy your weekend Kelly.

I love you list (as I knew I would.) That belly dance sounds wonderfully amusing. And you have a very "glass half full" to view the cold morning air as a good thing to wake you up!!

I'm glad you did this. So many of these simple things posts were pure poetry.

I seriously may have to get in on this simple things listing deal. What a great reminder of all the beauty we're surrounded by!!
