You know that sometimes a wife can get a little too much enjoyment out of making her husband fidget about special days. As he tried to eat his breakfast, I said to my half awake husband, "You do remember what is special about today?" After 16 years of marriage and 22 years together, I was impressed to see that he actually looked up from his Cheerios this morning with a concentrated look. The poor guy was really trying to figure out what makes today special. After about 10 minutes, I decided to let him out of the proverbial doghouse. However, I did test him for a few minutes. As I'm running around getting the lunches ready for the kids, I yell out a couple of teasers to see if I can get him thinking:
"You know that it's important to me."
"It has added so much to my day."
"I talk about it all the time."
I know he was most likely saying to himself, "Oh no, here she goes. I don't know what she is talking about." He knows better than to say that line out loud. If I had a dollar for every time he thought that...
Any guesses? Drum roll please!!!
Today is my blogaversary!! Is that's how you say it? You should have seen my husband's expression when I finally let him off the hook. Half relieved and half annoyed:) I wonder if I would have received some kind of shiny gift if I let the mystery go on all day. That would have been an interesting experiment. Well, I don't usually get anything shiny for my anniversary, so maybe I'll have to start hinting better when it comes to gifts :)
All of you know how happy I am to have found you out here in bloggyland. It has been a terrific year full of inspiration, humor, insight, generosity, gratitude and fun. I'm so looking forward to my next year of blogging. It's a beautiful way to connect with people each day. Thanks for your friendship, support, guidance and hugs!!
Do you think that hubby will put this date on his calendar next year so he won't get the grilling?
