Sunday Citar - Can The Beatles Help Me Today?

A Sunday with The Beatles sounds like a good idea. Here's a great song and some interesting quotes from The Fab Four.

I was trying to find a beauty of a Beatles song to share today, but I decided to go with one that is a call for help while I watch my kids "go wild" as I type this post. Listening to this song, I think it really speaks to all us tired Mamas and Papas (wow, another 60's group reference :) who are just trying to get it right each day.

John Lennon: "You're all geniuses, and you're all beautiful. You don't need anyone to tell you who you are. You are what you are. Get out there and get peace, think peace, and live peace and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like."

Paul McCartney: "Nothing pleases me more than to go into a room and come out with a piece of music."

George Harrison: "I think people who truly can live a life in music are telling the world, 'You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don't need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best, and it's the part I give most willingly.'"

Ringo Starr: "America: It's like Britain, only with buttons."

I thought Ringo's quote was a clever one :)

Yeah, this sums up how I feel during some moments of the day with two kids two and under. But luckily, I get the help I'm calling for during the next few weeks.
Hope your kids return to a state of normalcy.
Did you have fun at the game?

OK, I'm an idiot. What does Ringo's comment mean?

Yup, we do all feel down sometimes, and it is nice to have someone help us back up! I enjoyed watching the video. This is one I hadn't seen before.

Hello, I'm visiting by way of Flory's blog. I like your writing style, and I LOVE the Beatles. I remember very well when they hit America. I was 14 when I saw their first movie, "A Hard Day's Night." My older sister was totally embarrassed by my screaming in the theater. Ha! BTW--I'm your new follower.

Although I've always been most interested in George because of the good work he did for Bangladesh in the early 70's I really liked John's quote. I think that peace truly does only come when you accept it and become it. Sometimes the noise around us is so enticing that we forget that peace is inside.

I saw a Beatle's anthology a while ago and thought that someday I would really love for Deaglan to get to know their music. I hope he will appreciate it!

I always thought "Get Back" was very appropriate for the moods of the time too. The Beatles had a real nack for lyrics that remain meaning now many years later.

Nice.

Personally, my favorite movie was 'Yellow Submarine".

Oddly enough, even though their first three movies have all made appearances on cable, The Magical Mystery Tour hasn't.
