Sunday Citar (Don't worry; be happy!)

Edgar Degas

You can feel the excitement and bustle of activity as these dancers get ready to perform. This is one of my favorite Degas paintings.

It's time to join in with Fresh Mommy for Sunday Citar. My kids start school in 3 days. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Here are some quotes to ease my anxious mind.

"Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy." - Leo Buscaglia

"Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow." - Proverb

"We spend precious hours fearing the inevitable. It would be wise to use that time adoring our families, cherishing our friends, and living our lives." - Maya Angelou

I feel better already :) Happy Sunday!

"....precious hours fearing the inevitable...."
Something I deal with on a DAILY basis.

Happy Sunday, Kelly!

Thanks for the quotes and scripture. They are so true.

The Degas is beautiful. With Degas' ballerina's we rarely see the pain that is born out of such beauty.

Gelsey Kirkland's, "Dancing on My Grave," and Judith Jamison's "Dancing Spirit," show the dedication necessary for dancers.

All is well, Kelly.

I love Degas and have never seen that painting before. It's gorgeous. His use of light is amazing.

Also loved the quotes, especially the one by Angelou. I know I have spent too much time worrying about things--time that I will never have back again. There's precious little that I worry about anymore. I'd rather have the time with my kids.

By the way, that Degas painting looks great with your new color scheme.

Psalm 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning..
No matter what weeping you may being going through just remember that joy will come in the morning!

"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."

As I've been reading the gospels (I'm in Luke), I am amazed at how often people, including the disciples are afraid (and unbelieving.) But just as surprising is the understanding Jesus demonstrates. So often His conversations begin with... "Be not afraid..." or "Fear not..."

Fear is natural, just like minor illness, so... Feed your faith, and starve your fears.

Fear not! Have faith in God!

Happy Sunday!

These are awesome quotes! Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Citar. I'm jealous of your walk to school. The picture I posted is just our walk to our bus stop which is far enough. LOL We live in a large development in the middle of no where. My kids have to ride the bus too.

Oh, how I needed to hear these, especially the one by Maya Angelou, whom I've never heard of. I've been doing so pretty intense worrying the past few weeks about things that are totally inevitable and out of my control. Regular life events that I'm just not ready for. *sigh* I will definitely be copying that one to post somewhere near me. Thanks so much!

I hope you have a worry-free week! Thanks so much for stopping by today. It is always so good to 'see' you!

Blessings,

Teresa <><

I too love Edgar Degas, This painting reminds me of anticipation and hope. You can feel it in the "air". I also love "L'etoile" which has the dancer in full performance cast with underlighting..... The two together would be a great metaphor for important new beginnings. =)

Great quotes! I love leo buscgalia. When I was in grade seven, after I finished reading his book called Love, my mom and I went to an author convention and he was a speaker. It was a great experience!
