Friday High Five

I enjoy playing along with Angela for Friday High Five , over at Angela's Adventures and Minor Mishaps.

Five emotions I'm feeling today on the last day of school:
  1. Elation. Keeping up with homework, projects and activities can really knock you out. It will be nice to sit back and just enjoy doing whatever comes to mind.

  2. Pride. You should have seen my 9 year old's face when he saw how wonderful he did on his report card. I don't think he expected to get such praise from his teacher. I think he thinks of himself as "second banana" to his older brother. Today, he stepped out into the spotlight and enjoyed it. All the kids, gratefully, had a successful year.

  3. Sympathy. It was bittersweet for my kindergartner this morning as he got off the bus. I know that he will miss kindergarten. He was sad for a little while. Now he's happy when we talk about all the summer activities ahead.

  4. Anxiety. Long days ahead with 4 kids. I hope I can think of enough things to keep them busy and not wrestling.

  5. Hopeful. I'm praying for sunnier skies on my block. I'm going to let happy thoughts rule my day. This bully situation has taken too much out of me. First and foremost, I'm here for my children. I can't let this tension take over their childhood. I have to hope that everything will work out o.k. We'll just take it day to day. Remember that rock song, "We're Not Gonna Take It"? Let's make that song my anthem.
Thanks to everyone for their support and good wishes. You are all the greatest! Happy Friday!

Now I have that song in my head! I hope your weekend is wonderful and relaxing.

I've got that song in my head too! Who sings it? Is it Twisted Sister? Rock out, septembermom!

I was thinking that school gets out late for you too. Our last day was May 1, so our summer is almost half over. We start again on August 24.

I will now have that song stuck in my head the rest of the day! This could be a problem considering I don't know all the words!

I am really shocked that school is just getting out! When does it start back up? I am sure you all will have a wonderful summer. I really hope that some sort of peace comes out of the situation. Try not to let it bother you and enjoy the time with your kids!

Oh man! I remember what a great feeling it was the first part of summer, realizing we didn't have to do homework every night with the kids. Whew!
I'll try to come up with some suggestions for things you can do this summer! Outside is always good. Run, jump, play, wear out!

I am week one into summer break...I was quite anxious too...but we are sleeping in and just taking it easy. I loaded up on crafty projects and making play dates. We are actually having fun (but there are still whines and streaks along the way..lol). I hope this summer brings an end to the bullying...stay strong!!! This will pass!

That was supposed to say "whines and shrieks" lol...

Hope you have a great weekend Kelly! Enjoy the school holidays with your 4 kids - have lots of fun and hope you can have some peace from the awful bully situation! I thought of you last week as in our local papers there was a whole page report on bullying and how destructive it can be. Sending lots of positive thoughts and HUGS to you!!

Congratulations Septembermom. I hope you and the little ones enjoy the summer. Hopefully it won't be so rainy for July.

Congrats to "second banana" taking some time in the spotlight! Good job kid!

And I imagine "anxiety" is a standard summer feeling for most moms.
