Fresh Mommy. Here are two of my favorite Thomas Merton quotes. My father introduced me to Thomas Merton's writing and philosophy. He knew how to "seed the mind" and spark thought and encourage conversation.
Thomas Merton:"Every moment and every event of every man's life on earth plants something in his soul."
"Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony."

Love the quotes, perfect with the sunflower. I've always felt that everything matters, everything counts. Everything. Yes, it becomes a part of our souls.

beautiful!
I just love quotes, because they are so profound and intense and make you stop and really evaluate things in your life. I love both of these, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for introducing me to TM. Those were good, I will have to go read up on him.
Love your iris picture.
Those quotes are perfect for some things that Joshua and I have been discussing lately. Thanks for sharing!
Good thoughts and so true!
Boy do I need more balance, order, and harmony!
Wow. Does that second quote ring true for me!
That second quote is SO true. Every second I am striving for that balance. The key for me is slowing down and not biting off TOO much. :)
Such a beautiful painting and I love the quotes! So inspiring!
I think this second Merton quote is so true. So often we think that happiness is something magical and distant. I love that painting...it reminds me a bit of that Van Gogh - am I thinking of the right one of the Sunflowers?
