Poetry month continues...

I'm trying to write a couple of poems a week in honor of National Poetry Month. Here's my attempt at writing a pantoum. I'm not sure about the title. Usually, I like to use one word titles. This is a new form for me. I'm in unchartered waters. Hopefully, I won't sink :)

Scraped by Love

Clear those clouds away
Rain will refresh again
Core will reignite
Joy hides in corners

Rain will refresh again
Peel away doubt
Joy hides in corners
Craft another you

Peel away doubt
Embrace the embers
Craft another you
Others to treasure

Shelve former self
Core will reignite
Power through loss
Clear those clouds away

This is wonderful! I'm not familiar with pantoums. Maybe I'll do a little research and try to write one too.

I'm not familiar with this type of poem either, but you did a fine job. I have reinvented myself in just that way a few times!

I think the images here are quite powerful. I love the idea of peeling away doubts, shelving old selves. It sounds like a starting over story or deciding to be happy amid bad circumstances. you really have a way of evoking some heavy emotions.

On a different level, I see Spring parallels here, new life, rebirth, joy. Very nice!

Very nice. What a powerful line... "craft another you" and "joy hides in corners" is so hopeful. Thanks for sharing. :)

I felt like this was a poem of renewal, of starting over again, of letting go of yesterday's mistakes. I loved it! It is definitely a poem of HOPE.
