Stuffed animals are everywhere I look today. My two young ones have decided to showcase all their furry friends on every available seat in my living room. While they were setting up this zoo, I was busy making the beds, unaware of what was keeping them giggling in the front of the house.
I can't believe that we have accumulated so many stuffed animals over the years. Considering that I have given bags of stuffed friends away, I'm amazed that we are still overrun with bedtime buddies. My kids don't even know about the two bags of animal friends in the attic. All kind of creatures are represented. Bears and dogs definitely monopolize the collection. My two young ones give extra special hugs and protection to those guys. When the two big kids get home, my two young ones go into security guard mode to make sure that no animal buddy is body slammed in a wrestling match.
Where did they all come from? I know that I haven't bought one in a while. Of course, grandma and the rest of the family love to see my kids' smile when a new special furry buddy arrives. At the last birthday for my youngest son, I remember saying when he opened a gift bag, "Oh, how nice. Another stuffed monkey." At least, he wasn't huge. We have some really big animals who hold up the rest of the smaller ones.
I think these animals must be multiplying in my sleep! It's always a challenge trying to organize them in my kid's rooms. Once I get them sort of neat, one of my kids will pull one out and the inevitable avalanche occurs. If I get anymore, they might as well have their own zip code. They are taking over!
For now, I'm going to try and enjoy my little kids' zoo at the house. Soon enough, I'll be wondering where did the days go when I caught my little one happily dancing around or hugging extra tight a bedtime buddy. Off to find a seat on my couch.
Maybe today I'll sit next to a tiger :)
