Want a t-shirt with my new motto?

To think of me getting a revelation while cleaning up doll accessories all over my living room floor.

While doing that always fun activity, I'm taking in all of "So You Think You Can Dance."

Those dancers half my age amaze me with their musicality, skill, and abandon each week.

So here comes the revelation that pops into my overworked brain.

Dance More; Eat Less

I know...Confucius would envy my stay-at-home mom wisdom.  (insert sarcastic grin here)

Anyway, back to my need for revelation.

So what does it matter that I'm not a gifted dancer in any way? I can dance, and I will.  We all are dancers when we figure out that choreography churning around inside.

What about you?

(P.S. Grumpy 8 year old is standing next to me at 11:01 pm.  He can't sleep due to the heat.  I guess I will waltz him off to sleep :)

Okay, maybe you can dance but me...let's just say that I can keep a beat and have rhythm, but dancing as a whole is a big nadda. Just ask my kids, they will tell you I am "uncool" (as is there dad) on the dance floor.

I had to up the air a little while ago here because my son was still insisting on curling up with his favorite blanket. (He is sort of a Linus of sorts with that thing-it was his toddler blanket on his bed many eons ago, and he still wants it on his bed.)

Here's hoping for cooler days ahead for you. A cold shower before bed can help with heat struggles. I grew up in southern Nevada - summers were 130 degrees. And my grandma's house where I lived for a few years had no air conditioning. Wet hair before bed helped me survive.

Wow, I was talking about Confucius yesterday :D I love to dance and I think fun is key! WE do it when it isn't so much work~

I agree, we can all dance. I love your wisdom. And I have to say Kelly, I am the one that doesn't know how YOU do it all. Coming to work is easy compared to staying home, making meals, entertaining them, cleaning, worrying and all of it! It's just the feelings of not being enough that leave me churning. Miss you so much my friend!

Keep dancing and think of all that exercise you're getting with the kids.

I dance great while sitting in my chair. Seems I can move my upper body but can't coordinate that with my lower. Hmph! But I'm not as bad as Elaine (Seinfeld). Love your motto! Maybe I can try it in the privacy of my home. :)

"Dance more; eat less." Oh but, of course! Wonderful idea.

Dancing I love, there was a time a danced and danced, the night away.

I still do a happy dance when something good happens, and a rain dance every now and then :), and a wild and crazy dance when no one is watching.

Have a great day.

I've always loved dancing, but old bones don't want to move that much anymore. It's too bad, too. Maybe I just need to work at it. Gotta dance!

I think you are on to something! I know if I just did the "eat less" part it would help tremendously.

By the way, I'm just back from vacation and catching up with the blog posts I missed while I was away but I'm only leaving one comment or I'll lose my mind and never catch up! Hope you understand!

Love the motto! Mine needs to be sleep more, eat less.
I should probably not stay up so late eating chocolate and reading, and then complain about dragging and feeling fat the next morning!
Sigh.
If only we would take our own advice!

I miss dancing a lot. I used to be so good at it...now i walk with a cane? Not...but i try...my motto: this too shall pass...also like Eleanor Roosevelt's: no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
