Flash Fiction

Caspar David Friedrich - "Woman at the Window"

Here is my flash fiction (55 words) inspired by this beautiful painting by Friedrich.

“My Elisa, turn around. I need your eyes to soften for me.” Peter would sail to a land of unknown beauties, both natural and human. Elisa feared that his love would not hold. She ached to think Peter could feel the chains wrapping around her heart when he would call to her from the dock.

These are always the neatest prompts. I love seeing what everyone comes up with.

This evoked such vivid emotions. I really think you should write your book and it should be set in this era. You have a gift for it my friend.
