E is for Equation

Let's see how this word gal pulls off a post with math analogies. One more sip of orange juice and here goes.

There is definitely a missing variable or two to solve my daily equation of life. I propose that it is okay to let that unknown be free and just out of reach. Does everything really need to add up so perfectly for me to feel happy as I run, pause, and breathe through my day?

Feeling incomplete usually nags at me and makes me uneasy. Today, I have decided to accept that I probably won't have a clear understanding of everything that I need and everything that makes me tick.

Life's equation doesn't have to be solved with a concrete answer. Faith tells me that we don't have all the answers, but we can trust that this equation of life will challenge us and maybe push us to creatively juggle a new variable or two to extend our thinking and fulfill a void once in a while. It's okay to feel a little lost or unsure when working out our daily equation. We're human beings who question and evolve. I don't have to feel complete or settled. My equation can remain unsolved, but I can grow from my attempts to plug in a new value or two.

Did this make sense to you? Does this compute? (I couldn't resist!)

Well, there is my personal revelation inspired by the letter E. Now I feel like I'm on Sesame Street. It's all back to basics, isn't it?

Wonderful post, I'm not so hot on maths but understood what you were writing about.

It all adds up! (I couldn't resist, either.) :)

Aw man! Isn't it enough that Ivy has algebra first thing in the morning? I come to visit Kel, the math whiz...

I think I get it. ;)

As you things aren't adding up for me right now. Back to the doctor today. I might as well move in. But there is one thing that helps me know no matter what happens, I'll be okay. I know where I'm headed. So I can be here or there. It's all good. (((hugs)))

I think there are always new variable being thrown into the mix. Keep computing and it will all make sense one day. :O)

Makes sense. Some equations take a long time to figure out. :)

This is a very well-done analogy of the complexities in the equation of life! I enjoyed it!

very nice even though you brought math into it! some of life's bigger math problems are meant to remain unsolved

WOW!! well, first off, I am NOT a math genius...in fact, I don't like math at all really but I did like your post! Life is complex and I don't htink there are any equations written that will help us figure it out; darn!

So much more profound than Sesame Street - this is really deep. I just wish sometimes life's equation was solved with a concrete answer. It would make things so much easier but then where would the learning be in that.

Even I ...Miss Non-Math...can appreciate this analogy. I think all equations need a bit of the unknown in them to be interesting.

I've been thinking about this exact thing the last few days - especially while the kids were sick. I never quite felt together, in dirty t-shirts and a greasy ponytail, and I saw that this was real life. It's not always neat and tidy and if I couldn't find a way to at least find acceptance during those times, if I am only willing to be happy if everything was pretty and shiny, then I'm not really living. Sorry for rambling but that's what your post made me think of.

I enjoyed your philosophy on life. Having faith is certainly the key. Like your A-Z challenge. Take Care :)

oooooh, this is such a tough one for me. I'm am so "Spock" about things...I want answers, I want tidy solutions...I'm learning though. I'm finding my "Kirk".

I think at some point we all end up in this space. For me, I am constantly learning that it is often times the journey that is more important than than the destination. Faith helps us through this, and I know you have plenty of it. I enjoyed this post today. :)

I quote:
"Life's equation doesn't have to be solved with a concrete answer."
"Does everything really need to add up so perfectly for me to feel happy as I run, pause, and breathe through my day?"

Such wise words! Who knew, the letter E for Equation could spring these clever thoughts!
