It's Microfiction Monday over at
stony river. We are invited to write a story based on a select picture in 140 characters or less (including punctuation and spacing).
Dad has the camera. Stop squirming. Put on a good girl smile. We have to sneak on the train. Oh, this Rockette outfit is itchy!

Woww!!!!!!!!! Beautiful :) :) Very Well Said :) :)
Kelly's inner dancer surfaces again! I think you would make a great novelist. As I read your 140 characters, I wanted to know more about these girls!
Your imagination floors me. How you go from that picture to the words you conjure up, oh my awesomeness. How long does it take you to do these? I think that is really what happened in this photo now. Have you seen the Rockettes... I so want to.
dad has the camera stop squirming ! hahahaha... how come those vintage beauties were wearing heels on grass? mine often gets embedded in the ground! hahaha
I like this one! I always wondered if those Rockette outfits were itchy...now I know! Thanks for that.
Have a great week. Cheers!
Hey - pretend everything is normal . . . LOL!!
LOL...too funny. Can you imagine the Rocketts with those outfits? LOL Too funny. Great story. Have a good one :)
Good one! Love it!
Nicely done, it does look like they are not comfortable standing there.
That is funny...I just love it. The expressions on their faces are priceless and I could totally hear this conversation as I looked at it.
Nice work Kelly!
Those sly, daring girls must have been extremely slim in order to fit all those clothes on over their Rockettes outfits. This was a very cute story!
The gal on the left doesn't seem to be Rockette material!!! Just saying!
Love your take on this one!
Well, Jenners, the girl can dream, can't she? LOL.
Pat, remember that Rockette outfits are usually not much material :)
So very clever, it was excellent.
Yvonne.
Just love picturing the scratchy costumes underneath those layers! Great take on this week's photo! :)

Cute! Can-Can it gals!!! :O)
I'd like to read the next 140 characters. That's a really interesting photo - I love old photos. Seems like a more civilized time.
"Jeanine told me my dress was a one-of-a-kind. Lovely."
History in the making, as in your modern literary thoughts on their vintage past.
A step back in time with microfiction humour.
Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
They do have pretty legs!
Haha, that must be why they look so tense. Nicely done.
Sara, brings back memories! So very sweet!!!
what a lovely tale...you really nailed the classic black and white photo. I enjoyed reading your tale Septembermom :)
I like this one! It's so appropriate for the era they lived in. What a great microfiction.
p.s. I’m running a competition this week and holding a blogfest in November. If you get time, pop along and have a look.
Love your take on this one. I wish my imagination would work as well.
Love!
Old photos are amazing.
i needed that chuckle. lol
i love those old "candid" snapshots,, lol.. and this looonnnngggg story,, :)
I like how you get into the minds of the characters and pull out something unexpected. They look so upper crust and boring. I wouldn't have thought to give them secret identities.
I love it! Perfect description in so many characters!
Beautiful photo also!
hahaha. I wish i would have had the guts to do something like that ! this is a great MFM
Well done Kelly. Love your imagination! :)
Now this one would have been hard for me-good job Kelly!
I absolutely love your creativity with these!!! You have a way of looking at these weekly challenges in a way that I simply could not. Awesome!
Okay, that's definitely the line of the week I think -- "Put on your good girl smile". I might borrow that! LOL
