A little random rambling

Can't stop those random thoughts on Thursday...
  • I feel guilt because I'm too tired for snuggle time with hubby. I love my pillow at 11:30.
  • I have way too many socks to sort.
  • I know how many calories are in my chocolate chip muffin from Dunkin' Donuts. Last night, I forced myself to have temporary amnesia.
  • I had a temporary filling put in one of my upper left teeth. I can't eat candy or cookies for two weeks, so you see why I went the muffin route. I'm not too good at chewing on one side.
  • I have no idea who is on American Idol this year. I'm also clueless about the Amazing Race contestants. I've fallen off the reality show bandwagon.
  • I was thinking about trying to play tennis, but I fear that I'm not coordinated enough to serve the ball right.
  • What are my two middle boys storing under the bed? It's dark and mysterious under there. I wonder if anything will bite me if I try to investigate.
  • I bought the hair color. Now I need to actually apply the hair color. Hopefully, this Saturday.
  • My 10 year old and I are having multiplication/division battles each day. He zones out big time when I give him practice problems. I have to think of some way to get him to focus. Maybe I'll dangle a pizza slice on a stick as incentive.
  • I just stretched today after a long hiatus from exercise. I think my muscles enjoyed the exercise free time too much. They fought me with a few new aches.
  • My 10 year old minivan is rumbling a lot at the bus stop. I feel like I'm the mom with the jalopy compared to some of those scratch-free SUV's parked next to me.
  • My daughter is fighting the hairbrush these days.
So many knots, so little time.
That's all I have for now. Happy Thursday, my friends :)

Oh I am with you on so many of those random thoughts!
Totally with you on the sorting sock front. They are one of life's most time consuming tasks. I went to my small goup meeting last night, opened my bag to take out my Bible and book and found... a pair of socks. What is going on in my life?!

That's quite the list there. I have those kids of days and then try to have gratitude kinds of days to balance them out. Muffins are an acceptable substitute in my opinion too :O)

It's like you're living my life! If you figure out the multiplication concentration thing, let me know. I have the same battle with Pete!

I love these posts... so candid and refreshing! I am right there with you in trying to teach my almost 10 year old multiplication too! If you figure out the solution... please let me know! And I have given up on sorting socks... they all hang out in a basket and the boys can freely choose a clean pair each day!

Love YOUR randomness.

I know that muffin you're talking about, it's delish. My daughter and I split one the other day. I think it's true ... America Runs on Dunkin'!

Who needs coordination to have FUN! Go and get that racket and ball out!

My girls hate hair brushes. I try to avoid them. Don't even tell me how many calories are in those muffins. I love their pumpkin ones. I need to stretch my muscles too. Yikes. Good luck with the hair color. It gets easier each time you do it.

Because my kids are all grown I can now tell you who's on American Idol and this is my first year watching the Amazing Race. Never had time before. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the multiplication thing ever again. I'm still afraid of what's under my 21 year old's bed...how sad is that! Good luck with the hair color, let us know how it goes. Thanks for coming back by to visit me, I appreciate it!

I can relate with many of those statements,
but life is for living and if we can't indulge ourselves once in a while it's not so awful is it?
Take care,
Yvonne.

Oh, you should really tune in to AI...there is a LOT of talent there this year! I haven't followed closely each year but I vowed to do so this year. I would think you would be a big fan with your love for music! I'm with you on most of the rest of reality tv though.

I'm still trying to decide between coloring the hair or buying a new purse this weekend. Since I haven't yet scheduled a hair appt, I'm guessing the purse will win this time!

Blessings to you!

I love this! I thought I was the only one with random thoughts running a mile a minute in my head. Oh, and the minivan? I'm right there with you. :)

Lovely,
I too have fallen off the reality show bandwagon...does this mean I am less impressed with "everyday" people or I get enought reality in my own life. :) really enjoyed the post

Life with kids is full of hair knots and snarly math, isn't it? You capture it well. Life also feels better with more sleep and less TV.

Great menagerie of thoughts. Funny, hubby and I were just talking last night that at the moment there's barely enough time to sneak in a daily hug with each other. I cannot keep my eyes open past 11:30 - sometimes I fall asleep sitting up in bed holding the baby.

Randomness is a right-brained playground! Don't ever stop allowing your brain to play! I've had those battles...what's under the bed, knots in the hair, the rattle-trap car, the kids that didn't want to get in it...and I think the muffin is the perfect choice to deal with it all! When it's all said and done, you'll do the damage control! Right now, you're keeping your head above water, and there's a LOT to be said in that!!
You go, girl!

Isn't that true of most things these days ... so many knots, so little time. :) And remember, before and after pictures of the hair, please!

Happy Thursday! I think it's always good to have temporary amnesia when you're eating something sinfully good and it seems we have a few things in common, I have a 10 year old car that sounds like a jalopy too!

Septembermom....from one "former boy" ...you might check for playboys...under the bed is a great place to hide them!

Mmmm chocolate chip muffins. I'm with Mr. Felstead up there... I found a stack of old Playboys under my son's bed when he was about 13. One of the boy's in his class decided to become a purveyor of his dad's old girlie magazines.

I'm so behind on blogs....trying to catch up today from the past month since having the baby. I hope all is well with you and from this mommy of now 2 who is completely overwhelmed, I think that you mommy of 4 deserve all the chocolate chip muffins you want!!! I have no idea how you do it!

I have amnesia for a lot of calorie related things!!! And you go to bed at 11:30???? Man, I wouldn't be able to FUNCTION!

Michelle said...

My solution? I buy a giant pack of all the same socks. Sorting has become so much easier ;)

And my pillow and I are having an affair. I'm with ya there. So what color did you choose? Make sure there is NO red hint to it at all. Trust me. There's a post coming. Maybe tomorrow.

It's funny that you mentioned math battles-I just recently bought pre-algebra and geometry guides, not for my daughter, but for me! LOL!

I am right there with you! I find solace in the knowledge that this is my last minivan. Last. One. When this one goes, I am getting a four-seater hybrid. :)

I really enjoy reading all of your random rambling posts. I think that muffin sounds too good, I might just need to join you with the amnesia! I hope your hair turned out great, I am sure it did! You must share a picture!
