Friday High Five

I can't believe that it's Friday already! Time to post my Friday High Five to join in with Angela's fun over at Angela's Adventures and Minor Mishaps.

FIVE EXERCISE TIPS
FOR MY FELLOW BLOGGING MAMAS
  1. Don't accept a jumping jack challenge from a 9 year old boy. I made it to 25, but my bladder didn't want to cooperate for me to go 5 more. I should get more exercise points for jogging to the bathroom :)

  2. Don't let your 4 year old within 10 feet of your remote during a yoga video. She thought it was funny to fast forward while Mommy was stuck in a pose.

  3. Remember that your stretching may look funny from certain angles. I don't want to send my son into therapy after seeing Mommy in a not so ladylike stretch.

  4. Eating a cookie right after exercise will cancel out all that calorie burning. I think I better padlock the pantry :)

  5. Don't let the kids clock you when it comes to exercise bike time. I ran downstairs to have my own time with the bike. My kids decided to follow me and watch how many minutes I could handle. I couldn't really cheat so I pushed myself longer. Now I'm glad that I did, but during the mini bike marathon, I was praying that they would run upstairs.
Happy Friday everyone!

I could so identify with the bladder issue! I took a bunch of 4th graders on a field trip once where they learned how to square dance. All that jumping up and down sent me urgently seeking the restroom while my poor 10 year old partner stood there abandoned.

Wow, do you know how long its been since I've done a jumping jack? It might be as long as my last cartwheel.

My thought after reading this? Ya know, if we didn't have kids, we wouldn't need to do all this exercise in the first place!

Fun post. Erma Bombeck-ish. I guess that's why I like your blog: personal, practical, funny, and philosophical... quite the mix. (Plus occasional poetry! Yummy!)

Amazing how having a few (un)biased observers can get us to do so much more.

The older I get, the more jumping jacks feel like torture.
