I like to use postcards with pictures of favorite paintings as my bookmarks. Yesterday, this postcard fell out of my book. My little daughter said, "Mommy, did you wear beautiful dresses when you were a teenager?" Imagine wearing that sumptuous gown walking down the halls of a Catholic high school :) Glad that one of my Ingres nude painting postcards didn't come to my daughter's attention. Who knows what she would ask? Happy Friday!

I went to Catholic high school too! Unfortunately, the uniforms looked nothing like that gorgeous dress. Who is the artist?

That's a nice way to expose your daughter to fine art! Almost like art flashcards. I can see why she'd be intrigued by that pretty dress.
Yeah... I don't think the nuns would like that so much. And I'm thinking it would have been awfully uncomfortable. Reading about what went into those dresses -- yikes! Was it just that she thought you were that old? ;)

Everyone always laugh when I tell them my all girl catholic high school experiences/lessons! There were long flowing gowns just no guys to accompany us to the ball!
Isn't it so innocent and perfect what they say? When I was little I thought going to highschool was going to be like in the show Fame - everyone would be dancing and and singing in the hallways and cafeteria. What a let down the real thing was:(
But I'm still thinking that you wore beautiful dresses................. Maybe not as voluminous, but beautiful still (when the nuns weren't looking).
