Maybe Monday

I like Mondays. I like to plan how I'm going to complete my wish list during the week. Unfortunately, I wind up carrying over my wish list from week to week. I think I'll start with just one wish and happily fulfill it each week.

This week's wish list:

Maybe I'll actually use the Bender ball. At the mall, I fell for the Bender ball sales pitch that you can get "sexy abs" by using the Bender ball exercise method. They claim that it is 400% more effective than crunches. Has anyone tried it? I still have to blow up the ball.

Maybe I'll make a weekly meal plan. It always sounds like a good idea in my head. I'm getting tired of trying to think of something an hour before dinner. Since I have 2 picky eaters in my bunch, I tend to fall into the trap of running "Kelly's Diner" around here and taking specialty orders. Tiring, and these kids don't even tip:)

Maybe I'll find a home for the tower of books threatening to topple over in my bedroom. My husband likes to joke that he doesn't want to buy one more bookcase because he is starting to feel like he lives in a library. Hey, maybe I'll just store the books in the back of his SUV. I'm sure he wouldn't mind:)

Maybe I'll start having lunch on the deck with the kids. Every summer, I talk about having these lunches, and I never get around to actually doing it. This year we do have a bee problem. My son was stung on Thursday. The bee guy came and took care of the problem today. My kids now feel safe again to venture on the deck. Now if only we had an umbrella...

So which "maybe" item do you think I should try this week?

Oh, have lunch on that deck.

It makes me feel luxurious here. And I almost forget that I bought and fixed the meal.

(almost)

Lunch on the deck sounds like a nice one and it's easier to do! Thanks for stopping by today :)

I agree, lunch on the deck sounds the easiest. But, a home for your tower of books is right up my alley.

Everyone who already posted read my mind - lunch on the deck with the kids! That sounds like the most fun and might turn into memories that you cannot replace. Everything else can wait. I'd choose the meal planning as second though. I often will cook 2-3 meals on a Sunday so I have more time to spend with my family during the workweek. Good luck with crossing them off your list!

I think you could combine the lunch on the deck with the meal-planning goal. Because you'd have to plan what to eat on the deck for lunch- so might as well plan the others too. :) Sounds like a fun plan!

Most definitely lunch on the deck.

Can't get more simpler (or summery) than that.

The bender ball? Heck, no. I don't do normal crunches, lol!!! Good luck with that.

Lunch on the deck with kids sounds fantastic...I definitely think you should do that. =)

What great memories you can make on that deck!
Weekly menu would make a nice secondary wish, since it would make life easier for you!
Third, if you loaded those books in the back of his SUV, you'd need one of them while he was gone, for sure.
Fourth, Bender ball? Ppsht!

Another vote for lunch on the deck! That's what summer's all about, that ease in the sunshine. I'd also opt for the meal planning. I have to map out my meal schedule ahead of time. It helps me plan out my whole day if I know it's quick burgers on the grill, or chicken cutlets and peppers inside.

How about breakfast on the deck before it gets too sunny?

And come up with a treat for each kid who comes up with a viable dinner plan for the week!

Oooo! Picnic with the kids and the meal you thought up in advance! (You didn't catch that this was two ideas, did you?)

I say buy an umbrella so you can enjoy all those meal-planned breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Lunch, definitely lunch. :)

This sounds like our Sunday night - we talk about what we'd like to accomplish for the week. I find I'm much better about following through if I write it down.

Baby steps...donate some books and then have lunch on the porch... Sounds like good things are ahead this week. Enjoy :)

Since being a short-order cook is "Tiring, and these kids don't even tip..."

I vote for menu making (with the kids), and plan a meal-a-day on the deck... vary it... breakfast, lunch, or dinner. (Hats instead of an umbrella?) And spray bottles for extra fun and coolness?

Before anyone can be excused... they give a compliment or I'm-grateful-for or I-appreciate-____-because... (These are better than tips!)

The bender ball sounds like the utility ball. I used it to bounce Deaglan (settle him) for the first six months. He loved it and didn't like the rocking chair. I really love using it but just like crunches you still have to do them:(

The weekly meal plan works like a charm for us Kelly! Every week before groceries we make a list of our dinners. Then we only buy what we need for those meals plus breakfast and lunch items. I can't imagine now not making the meal plan. Having said that, I am also very lucky to have such an enthusiastic chef on hand. But I do pitch in. Every several weeks I make a batch of spaghetti sauce and a batch of curry. We have these on Mondays and Thursdays with salad when Shaune is working late. Shaune also makes a big pot of soup every several weeks and on Tuesdays or Wednesdays we have soup and sandwiches. BUT this could all go out the window when Deaglan starts eating what we eat. If he continues on the way he is, I may have to start up Kim's diner. Maybe we could go into business together!

And I can totally relate to the pile of books!

Okay, my thoughts.

1) totally laughing at you not blowing up the ball, yet.

2) I'm thrilled my hubby started making our weekly meal plans this summer. Things have been SOO much smoother. Two of ours are beginning to act a little picky which isn't good for a mostly vegetarian family. ugh!

3) I know what you mean about books. I'm a librarian and hubby is an English professor, so you can imagine our house. This summer we started going through all our books and separating out what we don't absolutely need (like what we could check out from the local libraries or at least get easily through ILL). It's nice downsizing a bit. Simplicity makes it easier to breathe. WHEW!

4) My daughter LOVES to have picnics outside. We don't have a deck, so we just use a blanket or sit out on the steps. But OH NO on bee problem. Glad that's fixed.

Love your Maybe Monday. Is this a regular Meme? If not, you should start it. So neato! And goes well with the To-Do Tuesday meme I just joined. HA!
