Where you are is where I belong

Love Dave Matthews. His lyrics are poetic in so many ways. As I was riding home from church this morning, my mind was caught up in all this "bully drama". The words in this song seemed to be speaking for me as I tried to wrestle with my feelings about trying to take care of my kids in this sometimes tough world.

As Dave says, I am no Superman (Superwoman), I am no hero, but I will be there for my kids always. I did find peace during church, but it's funny how this song gave me additional comfort on the drive home. Maybe God knew that I needed a hug through this touching song.

Don't you love it when a song speaks to you like that? It's empowering, in a way.

Love Dave Matthews! I also think that music shows up at times when we need different things. A song can save a life.

I do in fact think you are a superwoman.

It is interesting how music can offer an extra bit of comfort too.

I love it when songs can speak knew things to you, even when you've heard them multiple times before. I had a similar experience with Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately" once. Suddenly I felt my heart singing it to God and it brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for the post.

Was wondering about the bully saga; hope it's getting sorted out amicably.

And I also have some songs that "spoke" to me particularly loudly at certain times. Too many to mention, but two perennials that spring to mind immediately are "I am, I said" by Neil Diamond, and (always) the wonderful "Amazing Grace" which just brings tears to my eyes every single time I hear it.

OH MY GOSH.. do you know that we picked this song for our first dance at our wedding?! And that, back in the post just before we left for our latest DMB concert, I posted the very same video of "Where Are You Going"?

I have to agree with T Rex mom. You are definitely my hero! I often feel inspired by some of my faves too...Springsteen, Sinead OConnor, Great Big Sea.
