Little sister

Here's my little girl in her Cinderella pajamas reaching up on her tiptoes to give an enthusiastic high five to my oldest son. Five feet tall, my son must look like one of those fairy tale giants to my smiling princess. Now my first born is holding her hand as they walk down the stairs to his room. Dancing in big brother's room is one of my daughter's favorite activities. She loves the attention and applause as she twirls around doing her improvised ballet steps. When they are in the mood to indulge my daughter's whims, my sons are a great audience. These are the kind of family cooperative moments that I treasure. They don't happen as often as I would like, but I'll enjoy watching my kids peacefully playing together even if for a few minutes. These are the memories of their childhood that will stick with me forever. Now I'm flashing forward to my daughter's wedding when her three brothers take turns asking the bride to dance. I have to admit that I feel teary eyed thinking of my children enjoying her dance on such a special day in the future. How am I going to keep it together at all those weddings? Lots of Kleenex.

I'm so glad that they will always have each other. I'll try to keep these positive thoughts on hand when I'm breaking up the inevitable wrestling match later on :) Looks like the tide may be changing. I hear someone calling for me to intervene. Well, those sweet moments, though brief, are what family life is all about.

Time to put on my referee shirt and hopefully, start the dance again!

Those are precious moments and it's good to tuck them away to remember because they grow too fast!

That sounds so charming. Yes, the grow up all too fast but the memories last forever!

Keep all these lovely memories very close. You will find that you can pull from them in later years.

I still do that and now can pull from my stock of grandchildren memories too. But I seem to say a lotof, oh your dad or your mum did just that.

Wonderful and priceless.

Enjoy your ballerina, arguments and all.

Sweet memories, they're so special, and they're part of what will some day make her wedding day even more special!

What a beautiful post, Septembermom. Thanks for sharing such wonderful memories. I am so tied to nostalgia, I know I'm going to cry with every stage my children get to, missing the last one. It all goes by too fast.

I try to relish the moments when the kids love each other too. They can be so sweet...and then turn on a dime.

Your kids sound adorable!
