Tired today

My kids are home from school today. Our district is having a staff development day. It is only 11 a.m. and they are driving me crazy already. No one is listening to me. There seems to be one mini battle after the other. Did they all wake up on the wrong side of the bed? These are the days when I feel trapped with nowhere to hide. Every five minutes, I hear another one yelling, "Mom, tell him to stop!" The bathroom is becoming my two minute sanctuary today. Twelve years with kids wears on me some days. Twelve years of sleep deprivation doesn't help either.

Gratefully, the rain has stopped, and the sun is peeking out from the clouds. Time to let my "animals" out for some air and hope that things settle down. My daughter is complaining about something upstairs. When will the whining stop?

As I said yesterday, I need to get back into yoga. Breathe. Relax.

Goodness - I feel tired too after reading about your morning. I hope things improve and a little outside time calms everyone. Take care.

You are having one hell of a day! Good luck!

We've all had those days. How about a trip to the library, stock them up on books and dvd's to fill the rest of the day maybe? Or a long walk together if the sun is still shining!

That was my weekend...lol. Hubby was away which left me flying solo. Thank goodness for the movies! Did you see Monsters vs. Aliens, yet? Hilarious!! Hope things settle down...but with 4, I don't know how you do it! :)

I don't know how you do it either and with such love and caring so evident from your writing. You deserve a break my friend. I hope you get to rejuvenate soon!

I always hated those days of kids outta school, seemed to mess everyone's groove up and mayhem ensued! Try to find a moment of solitude. :)

Dang- sorry about that. I'm glad the cartoon on my post helped a little. I loved that cartoon. :) The sun is coming out for you though. I'm sure God is up there saying..."dang, give that woman some sun so her kids can give her a break!" Hope things get better. :)

I feel for you. I have two boys that are a year and a half apart and they are like that anytime they are together. The week they both were off for spring break I was really sick. I always just try and be glad they are healthy and can be loud and naughty. This day too shall pass.
Have a better tomorrow and stop in to visit us. Hugs from one mom to another.

Just think tomorrow there won't be any kids! and today will be a distant memory, until the next school day off!

Maybe you can plan for a play date exchange next time? Hope tomorrow brings you some yoga and peace!

Ahhhh... Institute Days. Those are the days we a) head to the gym where they can hang out in the kids area or b) go to the Children's Museum. ANYthing to get out of the house. I feel your pain. Good luck :)

Hey Septembermom,

I hope you have a great day tomorrow. Hopefully, the outdoors tired them. A little yoga would be very relaxing.

Namaste my friend : )

YES! Never underestimate the power of breathing.. and of yoga. Plus, they won't be allowed in the studio at the time, so it's some free "me time"! Very important!

While reading your words, I smiled in admiration and appreciation of my mother. I can only imagine that she must have been tired, though she never showed it. She was full of life! How she raised 12 very independent professional children alone still amazes me. You can do it! Actually, you're doing great! Your blog is a beautiful example of motherhood.
