Ten little things about me

Luci over at DivinelyWritten tagged me to share ten tidbits of personal information with all of you. So here is my list, in no particular order of importance:

1. I'm scared of anything related to vampires or Dracula. When I was six, we lived in an apartment across the street from a cemetery. I remember holding the sheet up to my neck when I was trying to go to sleep.

2. When I first started writing poems, I fell for some of those poetry contest/publishing scams. I can't believe that I sent money to those guys. My poem is in a poetry anthology gathering dust on a shelf. It is still nice to see my name in print. Me and 1000 other trusting poets :)

3. In the first grade, I followed a neighborhood girl all over the neighborhood. At 6, this little girl wanted me to try and take off the gas covers off of cars. I just watched her do it. We were missing for an hour. My mom was a wreck. Gratefully, we found our way back home.

4. During one trip to Hershey Park, my kids wanted me to go to the "Guess your weight/guess your age" prize giveaway game. Well, the weight guess was not going to happen. I let them guess my age. She said 27! I was very happy since I was 37.

5. During a trip to the museum, I mistakenly grabbed another guy's arm and started walking around the museum, gabbing away. It took me a moment or two to notice that he wasn't my husband.

6. I love bookstores and libraries. I can window shop in a bookstore for a long time. Now with the kids, I do all my browsing online. I do miss those days of walking around the store reading book jackets.

7. I can't miss dessert. I really need my chocolate at night. If I don't get it, I go through some kind of withdrawal. I know that I have no will power in this area. Oh well, chocolate is hard to resist.

8. When I was 8 months pregnant with my third son, I had to crawl somehow into a tight little room to turn off the water. You can imagine how I squeezed into that space. The toilet had overflowed big time and my husband was at work. Wet and a mess, I'm sure I had plenty of Braxton's contractions after that fiasco.

9. My number one pregnancy craving is vanilla shakes. The creamier, the better. Now I don't really get them. I guess I drank my share during my pregnancies. My post baby body would rather stay with those chocolate fixes.

10. I need to start doing yoga again. In 2002 (I know that is a long time ago), I was doing my little yoga thing everyday in my living room. Difficult at times, when toddlers would be trying to sit on my back or stomach during a pose though. It was such a great feeling after a relaxing yoga session. I hope my body can get into some of those crazy positions again. It's a much older, creakier body these days :)

Enjoy your Sunday!

After having Deaglan I have developed a daily chocolate need. I didn't used to crave it so often. I usually get a bag of chocolate chips for the week and TRY to make it last until the next grocery run.

I'm so impressed that you did yoga at home with kids. I've done yoga for a few years but always out of the house... although I tape daily a tv yoga thing that makes me feel better that maybe I'll actually do yoga at home someday.

Interesting with the gas caps. You're lucky your mom being worried was the worst consequence. It's trying to figure out what's going on in those little minds that's a challenge, isn't it!

DEFINITELY get back into your yoga practice!..it's never ever too late to start praticing again! I teach seniors and kids yoga every week, and practice myself as well.

I laughed out loud when you grabbed the random man's arm (can see myself doing that) and I love the Hershey Park story! And at Christmas, I went back to the bookstore about five times without the toddler just to browse and relax, reading book covers. Love it.

This was hilarious! I loved that you grabbed that guys arm in the museum and didn't even notice...I wonder what he thought of that! :) I too am absolutely addicted to chocolate! (you probably noticed this from my chocolate post)

Great tid-bits! Thanks for sharing. I, too, love going to book stores - especially used ones. There is a really old one my hubby and I go to all the time - two floors. Luckily, it's just around the corner from my Mom's place so she can watch our little guy. He would definitely put a hamper on my browsing!

Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I can picture a little girl covering her neck as she falls asleep. It must have been very spooky. When I was seven, there was a cemetary on the corner. :( for a little girl.

I could get lost anywhere with old books. The smell of old books and coffee reminds me of some my favorite times...:)

Hilarious about walking away with a "new husband". What is even funnier is that he let you chat and walk with him for a while. Oh my goodness, hahaha!

Great list going on here. With my first pregnancy, I couldn't enough cranapple juice. I must've drank it by the jug. Now, though, I can barely stand the taste!

I love that the gentleman played along until you realized your mistake. He probably thought it was his lucky day for a second. :)

I love these glimpses into your heart and soul.

10 years off on guessing your age! That's awesome.

And I totally hear you about needing dessert.

I guess you are not a big fan of the "Twilight" series.

I've done #2, so you're not alone being a victim of a writing scam.

And #3 brought back memories. Instead of taking the bus, I walked the bus route. It was a 5 mile route and I was only 8 years old. The route seemed so much faster on the bus. (duh!)

LOL...I am with you on #8. I need my chocolate. Everyday...

Those were fun! I can just picture you trying to do yoga with little ones climbing all over! That's it's own special fun.
I could spend hours in bookstores too. But it needs to be by myself so I'm not rushed. Needless to say, that doesn't happen very often!

I enjoyed reading the 10 facts about you.
My fave is #5. I wonder what your husband thought about that lol : )
Also, yoga is fun and I am sure you'll get back into it. I lack the will power to be a true yogi but it's fun.

This was great! I'm so with you on the chocolate one ... a day without chocolate is a day wasted.

Very sweet, thanks for sharing.
Haha, I like grabbing another man's arm in the museum. I wonder if he wrote about it on his blog post of "ten things about me?'
