Jenn, over at T-Rex Mom and Dad Tales, was kind enough to pass this fun award to me. Jenn's blog is full of warmth, love and creativity. It's always a joy to stop by for a visit! The recipient of this award shares ten honest facts that are hopefully somewhat interesting. This is what I came up with this morning.
My Sweet Hobo I can still remember the day he arrived in my apartment. He lumbered up the steps, looking a bit worn down. He cautiously surveyed the dining room, probably wondering where he wound up. Three kids holding their breath, as we waited to hear about whether this new visitor could stay. Hobo, our lovable beagle mutt, became a dear part of our family that day. The poor little guy must have been wandering the streets for a long time. Since we couldn't find the owner, we were more than glad to have him in our lives. This sweet dog could bring an instant smile when he wagged his little tail. Someday, I would like my kids to have a dog too.
Library Fans The library is one of my favorite places. Since they were little, I always have brought my kids to the library. I want to share my love of books with them, and hopefully ignite a lifelong interest in reading. All of my kids will eagerly jump into the van when I announce a library trip. I'm grateful that they enjoy the visit as much as I do.
Allergy Denial It seems like everyone in my neighborhood has an allergy during the spring and fall. My house is full of allergy sufferers. My husband and two oldest boys are sniffing and coughing these days. We are surrounded by budding trees and blowing grass. I've lived here for 9 years, allergy free. This spring, I'm losing my voice and coughing more. My husband insists that I have allergies too. I'm still in denial.
Water everywhere I think my boys use my bathroom sink as a fountain. You can always count on finding a flooded counter top after they wash up. What are they doing in there?
Scooby-Doo All my kids love watching Scooby-Doo. It is one of my favorite cartoons too.
Bird watching I have become an amateur bird watcher lately. City girl is turning country!
Painting possibility When I was very young, I liked to play around with oil paints. I wonder if I should dabble in that again. Just for fun. I don't think I have any real talent.
Computer kids My kids love books like me; my kids love computers like hubby.
Water guns and bubbles Two of the favorite spring activities in my yard. I just have to worry that my sons don't "accidentally" shoot my daughter with a water gun as she pops bubbles. I can hear her screams for help in my head already :)
Loud van, quiet van When I drive my minivan, the kids are singing or talking. The volume level can get kind of high. When my husband drives, he wants a quieter van. Harder for me to train my rambunctious group when daddy tries to enforce his van rules. That's when I hand out books and video game devices. Have to keep the driver happy.
I would like to pass this award on to the lovely, creative Dani, over at Dani's Daily Drop. Give yourself a treat and visit Dani's blog. She writes wonderfully witty, thoughtful and often inspirational posts for all to enjoy. Dani, I look forward to learning more about you :)
