I'm so excited to join Lisa Ricard Claro - Writing in the Buff for Book Blurb Friday. Lisa has come up with this terrific creative writing meme for all of us to enjoy. Lisa asks that we write a book jacket blurb (150 words or less) that could work with the photograph above as the book cover.
Here is what I came up with as I sat here with a few Oreo's, my favorite chocolate inspiration.
Helen Gregory’s mind bounced all over like a racquetball. A laundry list of shelved responsibilities tried to grab her attention from her shaky application of lipstick. What would the other PTA moms say if they saw self-conscious Helen sitting in a hotel lobby waiting for a man like Frederic? How fast her morning gym visit became the highlight of Helen’s quiet life. A widow for almost 10 years, Helen gave up on the idea of spontaneous passion and heart racing encounters. Caught up in smoothing her skirt, Helen didn’t notice how the man overwhelming her thoughts was just about to grab a wayward curl of her hair.
