Aloha Friday - I have a question for you

It's Aloha Friday over at An Island Life. Easing into the weekend, let's play along with an easy question. My question for this week:

Do you like roller coasters?

In three days, I will be holding on for dear life as I ride a roller coaster with my sons. I haven't been on a roller coaster in 5 years. At least, it's not one of those upside down rides. Who knows? Maybe I'll be brave and go on twice!!

Happy Friday!

Aloha Friday - I have a question for you

I'm back in my virtual Hawaii this Friday to join in with Aloha Friday. It's all about taking it easy on Fridays with a quick question post. If you would like to participate, just post a question on your blog and add your link at An Island Life.

So as my kids are pounding the Wii dance mat trying to match the moves of "Dance Revolution Party," this question came to my mind:

What childhood activity do you miss?

I loved putting on my roller skates as a girl and zooming around my NYC neighborhood. Some of those steep neighborhood blocks were a challenge at times. I'm amazed that I didn't get hurt more often. Those were the days before helmets!

Sending hula vibes your way on this July Friday!!

Aloha Friday!

I decided to follow my pal Kari's lead today and participate in Aloha Friday. It may be the closest I ever get to Hawaii these days :) So I'm putting on my virtual grass skirt right now.

Here's how it works. I'll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question: "How would you gracefully excuse yourself from a rowdy game of soccer without disappointing a bunch of boisterous 10 year old boys?"

My answer: I'm okay for the first 30 minutes of game play, but my muscles really start to feel the pain when the boys want to keep going and going. Usually, my pathetic pleas for freedom are dismissed by the happy bunch, but I figured out how to redirect their attention from me. Yesterday, just after the last goal, I yelled to the gang, "Who wants an ice pop?"

Now that I used that line already, I definitely need your help with some more mama life saving responses.

If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and link up at An Island Life. Happy Friday everyone! Are you doing the hula yet?
