Squeeze it onto my to-do list

I have to be committed.  Now don't get scared. I mean that I have to be committed to putting that first word down on paper.  There is a story somewhere floating around in the unspoken parts of this frazzled brain of mine.  Why can't I force myself into this much needed commitment for my restless creative spirit?  I need a push. Will you guys gently push me that way?  Maybe all it takes at first is 10 minutes a day.  Me and a notebook staring out the window.

I'm sure something will start percolating.  I'm usually a "dive head first" kind of girl.  My routine life (which I love in many ways) is keeping my pencil away.  Finding the time and energy is necessary for me. The creative within is getting antsy.  I better let her show her stuff.

My assignment for today:  Think of a few good opening lines.  Start small; think big.

I wrote this post while there was a brewing battle 20 feet from me.  Deep breath Kel.  Time for me to get creative and redirect their battling energy. It's going to be a long winter, I fear.  Maybe we'll just have to unleash all this kid energy by running around outside.  Mama calories can be burned too!

You can do it! ;^)
Let that pencil fly ~~ if there is one thing that I've learned in my journey back to college it's this: writers write. ;^)
I love that.

It's not too late to start NaNoWriMo! You write a novel in a month and no editing or correcting allowed until November is over. I wrote a novel last November, but that's because I had to set an example for the 27 students I was forcing to also write a novel.:) This month is going slowly, but doing NaNoWriMo is really an inspiration. If you've never done it, and want to, let me know. You wouldn't believe how the creativity flies when you release yourself from doing any editing during Novemeber.

I want to read what's brewing in that brain of yours.

Maybe put a pen and paper in the bathroom for, ahem.... those moments you have 10 minutes to yourself. For some reason I find a bathroom a soothing place to think. :O)

Not that I'm a writer, but sometimes I just have to force myself to sit still and start typing. Once the words start flowing it's usually a mess with ideas all over the place. Then I go back and tidy up and rearrange until I'm satisfied. Just begin and it will come to you. I have faith in you!! :)

Steal every moment you can and just let the words come out as they may!

I find that even when I don't think I have anything to write I really do. Force youself to do jothing else before you write 500 words. Either before the kids are away or afterthey go to bed. Sometimes I just lock myself in my bedroom and tell the kids I'm talking to my characters right now.

You can do it and I will read it!

Even if it's a few minutes, try to jot down what comes to your mind. It could even be words. I know you can stay creative!!

I don't know if you type or write. I type and years ago I was told to hit the keys without even trying to form words. When you've got a host of symbols and letters your inner being just HAS to start typing sense. It worked for me when I had writer's block. It doesn't matter what you write or type but it sure gets those creative juices flowing again. You'll do it, Kelly.

And while I'm here I want to thank you for all your lovely comments on my blog. I always feel I've made it when I read your wonderful words.

I've learned that I have to just start writing and write all the crap in my head to get anywhere. It's when I rewrite that something might come of it. Hugs to you my friend!
