Just call me Bus Stop Kelly

Please set up a few stop signs to get me back with all of you here. I need my blogging vitamin. It has been "go, go, go" this first week of school.

Here is a quick recap of my week. I will try to keep each event to one sentence. I have to run to the soccer field in a little while, and I'm not sure we have soccer socks without holes handy!

A praying mantis entertained the kids while I weeded for the PTA.

Jillian struts her stuff in a sparkly, pink outfit getting on the kindergarten bus.

Friends want to hang out for a brownie sanctuary break while all 4 kids are in school.

I cried in my driveway after Jillian got on the bus.

I also cried during "I Dreamed of Africa" with Kim Basinger while making unsteady piles of folded laundry.

My third grader's teacher went ballistic and yelled at the whole class for 30 minutes on the second day of school.

My high school freshman said "making out" in front of his siblings and somewhat shocked mom who was trying to make a left hand turn.

My middle school son didn't get lost or trampled in the hallway.

I should have done yoga instead of eating chocolate each morning.

Sweet Jillian announced to the whole bus stop yesterday, "It's Mom's 43rd birthday, and she'll be 80 soon!"

Jillian will be in pre-ballet class in 2 weeks.

Brothers refuse to be her dance partners.

It's a very quiet house after 15 years of always having a kid at my side.

Any of you blogging buddies want to do lunch or brownies?

Coming by to see you all soon!

Lunch with brownies for sure!

I want to cry thinking of your little girl going off to school leaving you alone after 15 years. I cannot imagine.

We LOVE mantids! Yeah.

Happy Birthday!
I hope that teacher gets her act together - yelling for 30 minutes is a bit excessive!

Love this post! I've cried in my driveway a few times...and as always Jillian cracks me up! You will get used to the quiet really quickly..trust me.

I'll have a brownie. I am sure you will find something to fill those quiet days in no time. I can't imagine sending mine to school...I hope your weekend is calm and relaxing.

Got some here if you want to stop by...LOL! (Actually, I have a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, brownies, and now my husband's pudding cake to tempt you with-HELP! I need this stuff out of my sight!)

Now for the rest:

I hope your third grader's teacher was just having a bad day and not a mental breakdown.

I cried when my daughter and son got on the school bus the first time, and I still cry at sad movies I've seen dozens of times. There is no shame in getting emotional-you are a mom and a human...

Ah, making out-who knew they knew, huh?

And I am older than you by two years (a little over two to be exact) so this should help you feel loads better. I always like hanging out with the older teachers at school because then I'm the youngster!

Relish the "you" time-now you can take your writing up a notch with out interruption.

I don't think I could do yoga so more power to you. I worked out with my daughter at the YMCA weight room because the buttons are harder to button, but now my arms hurt when I raise them. And besides, a little chocolate is good for you now...I think :)

Have a wonderful day!

I cried long distance as my granddaughter started first grade and I wasn't there to see her off.

Jillian sure let the cat out of the bag. I demand an invitation to your 80th...lol. Thanks for the laugh and commiserations on being left a lonely Mom. You'll soon get to enjoy the time alone.

I feel sure you are exhausted, but I am highly entertained! Way funny stuff, girl. Real life is so very fun.

And here I was thinking myself old, having just turned 65, and being on Medicare. It's not so bad now that I know you will be turning 80 soon. Oh my goodness gracious. I laughed and laughed.

Never a dull moment Kelly....Kelly The Wonder Mom!

So sorry about the quiet house. :( Though, you will be able to get some writing done. (Need I remind you?) Again?!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Why did his teacher yell like that? That bugs me. No cause for that.

I hope you are doing great. Miss you. :(

Oh and making out comment and Jillian with the 80 bit is just priceless. Those kiddos of yours certainly keep things interesting!!

I feel your pain...and what was the 3rd grade teacher yelling about?

Wow I love the brownie break. You've got some good friends there ;) It's amazing how fast the time goes and how much different it is when the house is quiet, isn't it?

Lunch and brownies, both! Although, do you think brownies are a good choice at your age? You are almost 80...

I'm up for brownies … I like to be kind to the elderly, you 80-year-old you!! HAHA! That is just … awful. : )

Sounds like your life is back to "normal." ?

What the heck is up with the yelling teacher? Kind of disturbing.

Hope life settles down a bit … but why do I think that isn't going to happen.

Oh bless you my sweet friend. And I could just hug your crew, so wildly different from each other but with the same beautiful source. And are you kidding? Having lunch or brownies with you is my idea of friend heaven!
