- I'm happy to say that I managed to navigate through those sneaky, black ice patches on my driveway for the last couple of days. I really expected to fall on my butt. My kids tell me that I walk like a Granny when I hit the icy driveway. I'm not ready to say, "I've fallen and I can't get up!" Remember that commercial...
- When I wake up in the morning without my glasses, I love that first peek into the mirror where I literally can't see any gray hair. It's nice to live in that denial for a few minutes.
- Oh, now nice to have a blissfully, quiet morning now that my circus acrobats/WWE wrestlers had to go back to school after a snow day.
- Do you know that I didn't get flour all over the place when I made my last baking creation? Ready, it's soooo complicated? Chocolate chip muffins. I'm starting small. No fancy flaming desserts yet. Now that's an eyebrow singing moment probably for me.
Please go visit my pal, Teresha, to read all that she's loving this Thursday!

I say baby steps too. I bake bread and muffins. If it's a cake it's straight from the box. I do want to try one of those fanct cartoon cakes one day. Stopping by from Marlie & Me
I walk like a granny on ice too - it's self preservation!
You need to check out some of my sure-fire pie recipes on my blog. You can do it! :O)
Loved the read, there are many things I like this Thursday, just being alive is a great feeling.
Yvonne.
you never fail to crack me up! I choose to imagine you effortlessly and gracefully tip toeing across the ice patches like a ballerina :-)
Thanks for participating!
Wow did we get a lot of snow. We had a snow day yesterday too, the whole State was just about shut down. We're digging out and emerging today :)
I SO remember that commercial. Has it been that long?
Your eye sight sounds as bad as mine!
Enjoy some time with just the girls at home. And go make that snow angel!
Isn't it funny I get excited to have the fun and excitement of a snow day but then, am instantly loving the quiet that returns the day after a snow day?
I did knocked out a beef stew and cornbread today- complicated is over rated!
That's the great thing about kids - it's nice when they've gone after you've had them for a while, and then like magic, it's nice to have them home again after you've been missing them! Best of both worlds!
It's always great to stop and think what we are thankful for :)

Hey ... black ice is no joke!! Let the kids laugh ... they'd be miserable if mom was out of commission and couldn't make chocolate chip muffins!
Snow days... I love not having the early morning rush to get kids on the bus, but by lunchtime, I'd rather have the quiet house. Is it only January??
I love your "things i'm loving thursday" prompt. Cute post as always. Love the humor. Have a great weekend.
A great snapshot of a part of your Thursday. So funny!
My Thursday was spent re-creating a website that I'd wiped out with the press of a button.
Walk like a Granny, better than falling on your keester!! Watching on the news about NY...OMG! We have relatives in Buffalo. Take special care on that ice Kelly!!
Who cares how you walk, so long as you're safe! I alo love those moments of denial Monday to Friday, I don't bother with anything at weekends.
Well, thank goodness ice isn't a problem here!
And gosh, now I know why I think I've hardly changed a bit from twenty years ago when I look in the mirror...I hardly ever wear my glasses around the house! :)

Ice is icky. I just stayed inside for 3 days rather than risk falling!
Mmmm... Choco Chip Muffins...
chuckling at number 2. heehee
YUM...I want one of those for breakfast. ;)
Oh and yes, I have slipped on ice and fallen twice this Winter so far. Yes, in public. But, the good news is that Noah didn't laugh first when I fell the second time. He only laughed after he found out I was ok. Now, there's progress. ;)
No glasses! Mirror! Ahhhhhhhhhhh (I'm so beautiful and young.) hehe I never wear my glasses even when applying makeup. "Hmmmm," she thinks, "could that be the reason people are always asking what the black stuff is on my cheeks?"
Chocolate chip muffins. I wants me some. Waaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaa
Kel, my bff, whom I loves, do you know about the Rose & Thorn journal? They don't pay, but it could lead to a paying thing for your poetry. And lots of folks read it.
Angie Ledbetter and Kathryn Magendie started it and Eugenia Chao is the poetry editor.
Here's the link in case you don't know about it.

I hear ya on the black ice. My son is now at the age where he makes sure I don't fall down. Kinda sad because that used to be my job for him.
Your gray hair comment had me laughing. I hate when I first put in my contacts in the morning and see all the gray that happened while I was sleeping. My mom had nary a gray hair even in her 70's and I was so hoping her luck was hereditary. Nope. My dad's totally gray head is what I inherited.
I remember that commercial well! We mimicked it all the time for many years!! So sad really if it was real life but what a commercial! I am not ready to have to say that in real life either so I walk very timidly in icy conditions as well. Isn't it a treat to be able to make our children laugh so hard? Better to have them laugh at me standing than laying flat on my back though. :)
I'm way too late to remember what my Thursday was like (it's Sunday here)...but I enjoyed reading about yours...especially the one about looking into the mirror without your glasse!! It made me smile, I love looking at my self that way but couldn't admit to it, till now...:))
I hope your weather warms up soon! Hooray for choc. chip muffins! I started off small with my baking too! :) And look where it led me....
Hugs and best wishes,
Mandy and Vivian
I'm glad to hear you are looking at things positively! And don't worry about messes when you bake. Isn't this normal? LOL!
Now now ... even *I* don't go anywhere near the flaming desserts. I think I know better than that ;) The muffins sound good though!
