Anyway, random Mama wants to say on this Friday...
- I was trying to reach a piece of paper that I dropped on the floor. It was in a tight spot between two batches of books. For some reason, I decided to hold the table and stretch to reach it while one leg is extended out. Guess I'm trying to subconsciously fit yoga into my day. Anyway, Jillian walks in and says, "Wow Mommy, you can do ballerina moves." I don't think I looked that graceful. Gratefully, I didn't fall on my face in one of my usual "Lucy" moments.
- I have to-do lists posted everywhere. Time to consolidate those lists. I also have to add all the tasks floating around in my mind. The Virgo in me needs to organize ASAP!!
- I'm typing and typing and typing stories for the publishing center at the school. I manage the center, and we are now flooded with stories. I tend to keep all the long stories for me to type. I feel bad asking another mom to type a very long story. One teacher is going to give me a 71 page handwritten story. I'm hoping that this 4th grader has big handwriting :) I also hope I can understand most of it. Some days, I feel like I'm interpreting hieroglyphics. It is fun to see those young imaginations at work.
- I'm not good at saying "no." I just got recruited to help out with the gardening/beautification committee at school. I love flowers, but I don't know anything about gardening. Maybe I'll get a green thumb out of this experience.
- "Mommy, mommy, the bees are going to get me!" It seems like I hear this cry every time I get Jillian all ready to go and play outside. Are the bees waiting for us?
- I love how I instantly start dancing when listening to my MP3 player. Even when I'm feeling stressed or worried, I know that the right song will lift my spirits.
- 4 children: 2 like to draw, 2 hate to draw. Elementary school teachers like to see their students draw often. Guess who is drawing (trying to pass as a 7 year old) for my guys?
- For all my gal pals, is it just me or do you feel bloated most of the month? Maybe it's that daily cookie. Well, that cookie has to stay on my "sanity" list :)
- I'm the oldest mom at the bus stop. A young mom said to me, "You've been coming to the bus stop that long!" I think I'll add that experience to my resume next to diaper changing whiz :)
- No more babies in this house. Baby wipes, however, are everywhere. I rely on them for all sorts of messes. I bet I'll have them handy as a senior citizen too.
- Time to have a job summit meeting with hubby. I feel like his chief of staff or campaign manager. I better get my speech ready! He needs motivation today. He may fall asleep in the recliner soon :)

Wow! You are busy!
My oldest has been saying "random" a lot, too! And the only time I don't feel bloated is when I first get up in the morning. As soon as I eat a single bite, though, I'm like Buddha. And I use baby wipes for everything, too (and since I still use them to wipe 2 butts in this house, we go through A TON!)
Good luck at the job summit meeting!
Kelly, as always, I LOVE your random posts. Maybe it's because I can relate on so many levels. I'm happy you didn't fall too with your ballerina pose. I think saying no is a hard thing to do, I struggle with that as well, and it is certainly something I need to work on. Bloated, most definitely. Give up the cookie? I think not. :)
I love your randomness. =) I don't feel alone, lol.
Oh my you have a lot going on! Deep breaths ;) Good luck with the lists...yikes, I have many too! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. ((hugs))
Your post is like my life: very random! lol
You seem to have a hectic life, but I suspect you wouldn't have it any other way.
I would like to thenk you for your support while I was doing the Ato Z challenge. Also the lovely comments.
Enjoy your week-end.
Yvonne.
I *LOVE* your randomness! I'm totally intrigued by your publishing center. I would DIG that job. I still have my 100+wpm fingers and as a kindergarten teacher I learned to read hieroglyphics quite well. *snicker* I would love to learn more about the center, how it got started, how many employees or "helpers" you use, any volunteers, etc. and which part of the school budget (or grants) funds it. I'll have to track you down via email or something to ask more ...I'll add that to my "to do" list (or at least ONE of them floating around my house).
Hugs,
~Shaye
What an honest post! Such is life sometimes, random like this, but in a good way. Busy and fulfilling. I think we can all relate.
Wow, that took me back in time. I promise you, you'll miss all that one day. But that usually takes a lot of years of foggy memories!
Randomness is a good way to give updates and show us what your life is like. I can totally picture you doing ballerina moves. You need to put up a Degas ballerina photo to represent that!
I would have loved to have seen that "Ballerina" move. LOL
I hate bees too.
I am not so good at saying no either. I get suckered into things all the time.
I love baby wipes too and my youngest is 4. I still wipe faces with them.
I can relate to that "oldest mom at the bus stop" thing -- my four sons are all three years apart, so we've had kids across the ages for quite a while. I remember attending Back to School Night for high school, middle school, elementary and kindergarten once, all the same year!
I love your randomness Kelly! When you share these things, I feel like I know you that much better and gain a glimpse into your world, which I enjoy! LOL at you squeezing in those yoga moves! I did six cartwheels for Vivian yesterday in the backyard and I'm sore today! Hahahah! :)
Baby wipes are a staple in my home - the last diaper I changed was 10 years ago.. WOW - hard to believe... I am also a big "to do" list person... you and I are very similar.
Love to you
Kelly
I know, the wipes are essential to our existence for some reason... I even have some in the car. I just got back from a meeting in which I SAID NO! And the world has not that I know of fallen apart... amazing and I feel rather free... and some new person said YES... really you have to try the no just once!
You're awesome, Kelly.
Random is great. Here is one from me.
Do you ever go to tell your kids to clean their room, bath or wash a dish in the sink they left and then discover you need to clean your room, bath, and wash the dish from last night you had cake on?
I adore your random posts. I also have to-do lists everywhere. Post it notes may be the greatest invention of all time. Unfortunately, in my case, they are also everywhere.
You are a very busy, very dedicated woman. I too wish I could have seen the "ballerina" pose. Too bad there isn't a picture for us to see. Maybe you should re-enact it another day just for us... LOL
Good luck with all your craziness!
I loved all these random things! It's always a great way to get to know someone.
I love your randomness. I do! I'm glad I was able to pop by here tonight. I feel better! ♥
A 71 page story from a 4th grader?! Incredible! And yes, I feel bloated most of the time- bummer!
I hope you are having an amazing weekend. You are super busy. I'm in awe. I would advise to say no sometimes so you don't feel overwhelmed or burned out. And do the things that make you happiest!!
I think it must be the ballet flats, no? That or maybe you should wear them and they'll make you feel more graceful? ;)
What's a kid doing writing a 71 page story anyway? Yowsers!
Oh and for the bees? Have you heard the "Leave Those Bees Be" song? The wee ones are FINALLY getting over their insane fear of bees because of it.
This was random ... but in a good way. I think baby wipes are indespensible part of the household! And I love that your boys outsource their drawing to you!
Hi Kelly
A glimpse into your random world shows me how warm, funny and familiar you are.
Our babies have babies of their own and wipes have never left the place. We even had a conversation just yesterday about them.
I love your random posts! They always make me laugh one way or another! I am not sure how I ever survived without baby wipes. I use them for EVERYthing! I hope you have a great week and that tose to-do lists find their way to the trash!
Being random is the spice of life! Sounds like you are one busy momma and wife, holding down the fort. It seems it never ends sometimes. But keep up the randomness. I love reading about them. Let's me know I'm not alone in this crazy busy world of kids :D
