A few more things about me

How sweet of Christy Rose, over at The Secret Life of an American Wife and Mom, to give me this gorgeous award! Thank you Christy Rose :) You know how to make my day!

Following the rules for this award, here are 6 things that you may not know about me:
  1. I'm good at taking three minutes showers. My husband takes 30 minute showers.

  2. I hunt around for just the right parking spot. I don't trust my parking ability.

  3. I will read philosophy for fun. My kids and hubby wonder about me sometimes.

  4. I'm knitting again. Do you want a scarf? My family has enough now :)

  5. Chocolate confession time. I hid a bag of Halloween leftover candy in my avalanche ready pots and pans cabinet. This cabinet is not built for storing items well. Everything tends to topple over easily. Anyway, I hid the candy from my oldest son. Of course, I should have had someone hide it from me. You should have seen me dig through that disastrous cabinet to try and find one little piece of chocolate. Did I organize the closet during my search? Of course not. I did find the last piece. I was a woman on a mission.

  6. I shovel my driveway in a haphazard way. My husband is so methodical in his shoveling style. Me? I must think I'm doing those van Gogh swirls as I switch my shoveling attack every few feet. It drives my husband crazy! He does it the same way every snowfall. If you saw me shovel, it looks like I'm either battling my shovel or dancing with it. I'm sure the other husbands on the street just shake their heads. It snowed today...
You know that I think you're all gorgeous bloggers, but I'm going to follow the rules and pass this award on to these 6 lovely bloggers. I would like to learn 6 new things about them too.

Susan, over at Susan Fobes' Family Formula
Kim, over at The child
sol, over at the window to my sol
T-Rex Mom, over at T-Rex Mom and Dad Tales
Flory, over at A Woman's Life Stages
Hyacynth, over at Undercover Mother

Enjoy your Wednesday! The kids are home with me today due to a superintendent conference day. Wish me luck that the kids don't climb the walls too much! I think I'll have to hand out shovels :)

I love the whole snow shoveling bit, I figure it doesn't matter how it gets there, as long as it moves!

I take those quick showers too....it's my husband that uses up all that hot water!

I had to laugh at the shoveling of your driveway! That is too funny. I am so jealous that you knit. I would love to be bale to do something like that!

I'm with you on the chocolates! But NOT on the 3-min shower.. sometimes that is my "me" time for the entire day. (: Life with small kids.

Congrats on the award! I don't need a scarf, because I'm knitting too and don't need anymore. I just got done shoveling and I had to laugh when I read about your technique. I had the same style and I think the neighbors probably laugh at me. Oh well - might as well have fun while you work, right?

Ha! That's so funny about the chocolate! I would totally hunt it down too ;)

Kelly, congrats on your award and thanks for sharing. I'm good at taking quick showers too, especially when I over sleep and need to get out the house, with the twins, within 15 minutes. It's pretty amazing.

I can't believe you'd do that for chocolate!! (KIDDING! Of course.)

And I don't think you can be criticized for helping to shovel snow ... who cares what it looks like.

And I think every mom can take a 3 minute shower ... it comes with the territory. What is wrong is that dads take 30 minute showers! ; )

This is very cute and you are well deserving. I enjoyed reaidng those 6 things about you : )

Eekk! We got more snow, too. I hear you on the shoveling messes.
And you are so sweet to tag me! I've been trying to come up with a few facts ... must keep thinking! Thank you, Kelly. You really brightened by day.

Kelly--you even dance when you shovel! I expected nothing less! :)

I so wish I could take 3 minute showers! I condition my hair while in the shower, so it takes about 20 minutes. I could sleep 15 minutes longer each day if I could get it down to 3 min. A new goal!

Loved the chocolate story. I laughed at your diligence. In a chocolate pinch, I have been know to mix cocoa, honey and butter together in a pan, warm it up, and pour it over peanuts.

Congratulations on your awards! You deserve them!

Thank you, thank you! I've been busy with school and Baby Girl as well as the normal T Rex wrangling but I'll see what I can come up with!

Thank you for the honor!

And I enjoyed reading your 6 tidbits! I think it's awesome that you hunt for a parking spot. And I, too, take faster showers (and get reading faster) than T Rex Dad.

Congratulations on your award! You definitely deserve it. I have a confession - I hide candy from my family, too! The bad thing is, sometimes I forget where I hid it. Have you ever done that? Oh, getting old is horrible! :0( LOL!

I wanted to stop by and say thank you SO very much for your sweet, sweet words each time you come to visit me. I really appreciate them more than you will ever know. Kind, genuine encouragement like yours is such a blessing to my spirit right now. It truly helps keep me going.

Thanks for being my friend.

Septembermom...I had to laugh...your husband's methodical approach to life must come from his slant towards being a techie! You must write code precisely correct or it just won't work! Don't be to hard on the guy...I am a techie as well!

I'm with you on number two.

regarding the shoveling: my husband doesn't often, um, participate. I can therefore be as haphazard as I want.

I want to learn to knit too. However, I need to learn how to crochet more than a scarf first!!! :)
