They Must Dance...

Watch this dance routine. You'll be amazed at the dancers' strength, confidence, technique and passion. I was blown away by this dance when I saw it on So You Think You Can Dance. The Alvin Ailey Dance Theater choreographs and performs routines that are glimpses of what is truly Divine in creative expression. Sorry about the video quality. It was the only clip I could find of this dance. Wait until you see the first female dancer as she dances literally over the male principal dancer. Her movement was so controlled and powerful.

My college roommate (and college football teammate) was a professional dancer. He and his wife ran a professional dance company in NYC for many years and it was always amazing to watch them soar and move. Now they are into yoga and choreography and are still just as lithe and graceful. Only person I know of that adjusts his chakras in the inverted swan before each tee shot on the golf course.

Fantastic! There is such expression with the whole body. The music is cool too. I am a great lover of dance and Alvin Ailey is among my favorites. "So, YOU think YOU can dance," eh? How appropos. :-) I have watched many videos of Alvin Ailey and Judith Jamison. I even saw Jamison live before she retired. Have you seen their signature piece, "Revelations?" It's glorious! Thanks for sharing this video, Kelly.

I think they can dance! That was exquisite. Thank you for posting this. Now I am curious about the Revelations piece that Judith mentioned. What did we ever do before youtube?

Oh, and like Kringle asked, how do you post a youtube video on Blogger? I can post my own videos, but when I try to do a youtube, I can only post a link.

I hate watching shows like that because it makes me feel totally inadequate! I just want to hop up and start dancing like them and it is definitely not going to happen!
