Thankful Anyway Thursday
Do you remember that party dancing scene with Elaine on Seinfeld? It was so funny to watch. Now I definitely have much more rhythm when I get the chance to dance. You know I do tend to wonder what I look like when I'm out there on the dance floor. I'm sure there are some of you who feel kind of self-conscious when you dance at a wedding or party. For whatever reason, I seem to think that the other party goers are interested in how I bust a move. I have to remember that most of them are on planet Jupiter after too many cocktails :) Who knows what they can actually see!
Anyway, I decided to celebrate my sometimes goofy dancing style today for Thankful Anyway Thursday. The always insightful and genuine Mon over at Holistic Mama invites us to find the "good" in the "not so good".
Today, in all my goofiness (there's my next emotional impact word for a poem), I decided to cut loose and dance with Jillian to all her funny songs from one of her favorite shows. She invented some new cool moves, and we even got a good workout. I loved how my goofiness made her laugh and smile. It looks like we'll be having more funny dancing with mommy days from now on.
Who knows? Maybe (after a few cocktails) I'll show off some of these new moves at my husband's Christmas party. Let's just hope that I don't turn into dancing Elaine in front of his boss! I'll do it if my dancing got my husband a raise. No pole dancing of course! I probably would hurt myself anyway. Happy Thursday everyone.

Oh girl you are too funny. No pole dancing. I would break something for sure. LOL
I used to love Seinfeld. Full body dry heave. LOL
That sounds like fun. I'd love to be there. Tell me when and where so I can be there.
You've seen my dancing video, right? You can't possibly be any worse than me :D
A holiday party that ends in pole dancing for the boss? You've been to my office!
Man, I haven't danced in so long that I've probably lost all my rhythm! I mean, I dance with the girl-child, but that don't help none! lol
Not sure I ever saw a pole a'dancing before.. what is that? :)
Busting a move with toddlers is one of the best workouts, I have found! And the great thing is they really don't care what you look like, you are just being a kid yourself and having fun! I love the Seinfeld episode, btw! A classic!
Unless you're one of those couples who takes ballroom dance lessons, I think everyone looks pretty goofy on the dance floor.
Have a few cocktails and enjoy yourself at the party!
I loved that episode! I'm a terrible dancer - worse than Elaine!
I can't dance fast to save my life and my fast dancing is pretty much like that.
Thanks for the chuckle.
Twyla Tharp, the choreographer, begins her book on the creative habit with this line, "I walk into a white room." She "invents" dance. Being a poetess, you might enjoy the first few page of her book available for browsing on Amazon.com.

Enjoy... invent... draft... rewrite... showcase.
(But you'd better leave the pole dancing to the professionals. Not that I've ever seen one.) ;-)
Thanks so much for the laugh tonight! I love the thumbs up when she's dancing, but I can't see too much good in it, LOL :0
LOL - no pole dancing! I love to dance. I'm usually the first up on the dance floor when everyone is shy about it, and all eyes are on me. I'm not great, but I'm having fun. Fun is what it's all about.
Love that episode with Elaine. :)
This made me smile. Dancing with my little guy is hilarious. I dance, and he goes into another room to practice on his own...
Ha! Full body dry heave set to music! Hilarious!! Sad thing is...I probably look like that on the dance floor!
Dan
I have such fond memories of my mom doing the goofiest things with us! Good for you that you allowed silly to prevail in order to have fun with your little one... hopefully she'll remember that like I do :)
You are sooo funny! It makes me laugh to think of all the mommas out there breakin' down like me and Autumn so embarrassingly do! But you are so right, it is such a good workout!
Elaine's lack of rhythm is, in and of itself, a new brand of rhythm.
(at least she'd like to think so and we can too, right?)
I love that episode of Seinfeld!! I don't have much more rhythm than she appeared to have. It was definitely not the gifting that God granted me with. :)
Classic Seinfeld episode! What an inventive fun post. I like it. Oh, and I can bust a move, if I say so myself. :-)
