Looking for some Satisfaction?

Here's what is happening right now in my house:

12 year old son watching hockey video clips on the computer (I've heard "he's scored" like 12 times so far.)

10 year old and 6 year old sons are finding every place they can to have wrestling matches. (I can't seem to pry them apart. I'll be part of the match soon if they don't take a break.)

4 year old daughter wants to play "pretend pool" with me on the living room floor. (ALL of her babies (20 plus) are invited to swim today.)

3 year old nephew is OBSESSED with Barney videos. He wants to watch them all the time. (I'm trying to distract him with my own lame versions of Barney songs. Not working too well yet.)

41 year old mother sneaked away to watch the Stones. It's funny that I still sneak off for some rock and roll when I'm a bit overwhelmed. Just like that 15 year old Kelly from long ago.

Hope you all have a very SATISFYING and happy Thanksgiving! I just want to survive the kid bedlam today :) Tomorrow should be fun. My biggest challenge is blocking the little ones from invading the kitchen when I'm cooking. Gratefully, my mom will be here to run interference.

By the way, I'm very thankful to have all of you!

First, we are grateful to you too.

Sounds like controlled chaos in the house. That can be a good thing!

I wish I were there to play pretend but alas I don't know any Barney songs to help out there!

Have a wonderful day tomorrow and good luck in the kitchen. Enjoy having your mom there.

Kelly, Happy Thanksgiving. I love the way your house sounded today. That's a wonderful life. Filled with the sounds of family--living.

Hope you don't eat too much yummy pie. NOT! I hope you eat to your hearts content. :)

Love the stones and Barney!

I didn't know you were so into rock n' roll. Music can be an amazing escape and youtube is a lot of fun because they have tons of videos. Well, best wishes to you and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Awww so sweet! I totally get the running for another room to do just about anything other than sit and be annoyed :) There is a fifteen year old residing in many of us still, we just don't always know it!

Well, ... I usually run for some Iron Butterfly or Led Zeppelin. The likability of the Stones depends on my mood.

Hi Kelly,

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. You always find such beautiful art to support your Citar quotes. I also am a big fan of SYTCD and Elaine's dance moves. LOL Thanks for sharing. My goal is to get back to visiting my friends blogs regularly again. As a working Mom, I just need to be in better balance. Take care. :)

Nice post, and it makes me appreciate the quiet here. The sparrows on the roof woke me up. The cats claws grab in the carpet as they chase each other for 10 seconds, and the Celtic flute playing on my computer. These are my sounds. (I walked out into the early dawn light to check out the sparrows, wading through damp grass covered with tabibuia blossoms.) Above the green lawn, the blooming roses, birds were playing on my rooftop: all is well.

;-) My gift of prose back at ya! Happy Thanksgiving!

I uses to remember having Thanksgivings like that.

Fortunately, I now stay safely hidden in my den until it's time to eat.

Sometimes a moment of escape is necessary to maintain what little sanity we, as mothers, have left. Enjoy the craziness, the creativity, the laughter. This only shows that there is life and love in your home.

Great blog. Glad I found it. Cool video. I LOVED the Stones in the Brian Jones days. And this is the greatest rock track of all time.
