Friday High Five

Hooray for Friday High Five at Angela's Adventures and Minor Mishaps. Have some fun and visit Angela!

It has been a crazy week for me. Everyone in my house seems to want to whine about something to me. Can I hire a substitute mommy to listen to the whining? Or a robot mommy? Any ideas?

Here are my 5 top whines from my posse here at home:

12 year old son: "Mom, I hate those soccer socks. What do you mean that the other pair is in the wash? Do you know how dorky these look?" (What soccer socks look that cool anyway?)

10 year old son: "Mom, do I have to show my work? I just want to write the answer. I don't want to write it all out. My hand hurts." (3 lines max he needed to write.)

6 year old son: "Mom, I have to read this book aloud now? I'll do it in the morning." (Sorry morning homework is not an option. Morning before school is over in the blink of an eye.)

4 year old daughter: "Mommy, I hate all food. I don't need to eat. I'll eat my pretend food that Santa bought for me." (So she's open to trying new food if it's plastic. Great.)

Working hard husband: "Kelly, why are there basketballs in the garage? Where are the boys? We really need to get them to clean up the garage." (No kidding, Sherlock. I'm working on it:)

One, two, three...close my eyes. Calgon take me away! Imaginary bubble bath is better than nothing :) Happy Friday my friends!

I need one of those imaginary bubble baths too. Life can get crazy when you are dealing with children. Mine have similar complaints :)

Hey, I wonder what would happen if you started hanging on them & whining that you don't want to cook dinner, or wash their clothes!
Now that could be pretty funny!

Happy Friday to you Kelly! The whining is one thing I don't miss, although even as adults they have their moments......

I don't miss the whining, but it would be interesting to know the difference between dorky and non-dorky soccer socks.

Wishing you a long soak in the tub this weekend. It sounds like you've earned it.

Mmm - plastic food. That actually sounds like something easy to make for dinner!

I love the 10-year-old's whine. All he had to do was write 3 lines? Now, that's too funny!

Have a great weekend, Kelly!

It sounds like you need to lock yourself in the bathroom for a little while. I hope you don't have to listen to too much whining this weekend!~

Who knew that whining from kids could be so funny! I'm sure you didn't find it funny since you need to listen to their whining, hope you get a Calgon Moment soon! Happy Friday to you too!

I hope you have a less whine-filled weekend...maybe a wine-filled weekend instead? :)

To whine, is to whine.

Fortunately, I'm down to one child whining, but she's a real pro at it.

Can you say, "non-stop" boys and girls?

You made it sound funny, but to you it would not be,, Hugs GJ xx

Forget the imaginary bubble bath, go for a real one!

And I'm such a believer in consequences... mean mommy me, I'd let them do it the way they wanted to after listening to the logic of why they shouldn't and then letting them deal with the sudden hunger (hey, I guess I don't like food) ;) But the whining? Ugh. I pretend like I can't understand them when they're whining ;)

Imaginary escape is better than nothing, right? Have a happy Friday!

I too hate whining...

but then...

does that mean...

we're whining about whining?

Nah!

Couldn't be.

No way.

Whine.

"I don't need to eat" omg, hilarious.

Want some cheese with that whine? Ha! We all do it but don't want anyone else to.

Can I borrow Jillian? Over here it's quite the opposite, seems I'm shopping for food every other day. I had a good laugh from this. Enjoyed all of them. Kids come up with the weirdest things, I love how their minds work.

LOL....i liked what the hubby had to say. men seem to think they cant take matters into their own hands! esp when it comes to cleaning!

A standard statement of mine through the years, "My boys are king of the whiners!" I can relate!

I get the same homework complaints too.

Too funny! Were you at my house hearing all of this since I hear many of these things daily? Gotta love with picky eaters, football socks and cleats, sports balls laying everywhere, homework whining and husbands who state the obvious....this must go under joys of motherhood!

I agree with T Rex Mom, you do deserve a long bath with some wine and music and no interruptions!
