Sunday Citar - Poets

I love looking through quotes of some of my favorite poets. Even if I only read one poem a day, I feel richer and enlivened by the experience.

"To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else."
- Emily Dickinson

"In a poem the excitement has to maintain itself. I am governed by the pull of the sentence as the pull of a fabric is governed by gravity. " - Marianne Moore

"And your very flesh shall be a great poem. " - Walt Whitman

"How frail the human heart must be - a mirrored pool of thought." - Sylvia Plath

I have to agree with Emily Dickinson, living does leave very little time for anything else!

As always, Emily is such a wise woman. That appears to be a consensus winner there :)

These quotes are outstanding, I love all of them, esp Sylvia Plath. Heck everyone of them are great, so thought-provoking. I love the classic poets, they possess a certain quality and talent that is overlooked today. I love reading them too.

I like Plath's quote even though it is sad but true. I am very sensitive and sometimes even when I'm feeling okay someone else's mood seems to jump onto me.
