Another Friday rolls in and here's my Friday High Five.
WHAT MY BOYS HAD TO SAY ABOUT SCHOOL
AFTER THE FIRST TWO DAYS
AFTER THE FIRST TWO DAYS
- My 7th grader: "You mean I have to memorize everything for Italian?" He has that class first thing in the morning. I hope he is half awake.
- My 4th grader: "I think I can just chill this year." He's my surfer attitude boy. He likes to coast through his day.
- My 1st grader: "Real school is a lot of work!" Kindergarten playtime seems like it was ages ago to him.
- My 7th grader: "We told my math teacher that we are still in summer mode." I bet a quiz is coming his way soon!
- My 1st grader: "Mommy, I love coming home to you." I told you that he's the mushy one!
Can you guess which one gets the extra cookie?

Isn't it amazing how kids can come from the same parents yet be so totally different in personalities, outlook on life and interests!
Dan
LOL...they are too funny
Funny kids! I love that your 4th grader is going to "chill" this year. How long do you think that will last?
It's so funny how different they all sound. I love the chill comment too. Too funny!
They are all such individuals Kelly! I love that Joe said his fave thing was coming home to you. I hope I'm on the right path with Deaglan and that he will someday say that to me:)
Aw, love them!
My first grade daughter's prime comment this week was, "I was totally chill with [insert certain boy's name here] today!"
Love that high five clip art!
AWW How precious. Today was my daughter's first day back at preschool (Pre K-3). I'm looking forward to hearing about her day. Thanks so much for sharing your quotes. Sometimes its hard to remember that moms EVERYWHERE are going through the same things this time of year.
Aw "I love coming home to you!" just melts my heart! Too sweet! Italian....wow....I would love to learn Italian. All they offer here is Spanish, French and German or wait at least when I was in school but that was ages ago!! Have a great weekend!
Too cute. Loved what they had to say. Cute.
Woww :D So Sweet Kids :D
Italian? That's neat! We were only given the opportunity to learn French, Spanish and German.
Have a great weekend, Kelly!
LoL @ #4! I didn't know they had Italian in 7th grade. Whew. Blessings to such wonderful, funny and pleasant children. Hope they have lots of fun this school year.
Awwwwe…. I love the last one! So precious! Love your blog!
"From the mouthes of babes," as they say....love that you record their comments as their words are treasures. I've created scrapbooks ever since my children were born, and I'm so glad I took the time to record some of their quips, because my memory does fade! Thanks for sharing.
I have my suspicions about who gets the extra cookie but I think they all deserve one for surviving the first week back.
Their comments made me smile! Your first grader's comments were just precious about real school starting! I miss that age!
Hmmm, would the answer to the extra cookie be... YOU? :)
Gotta love the reactions from the kids. Although now I understand a little more why my husband does a quiz the second day of school every year!
AWWW! I love the last one! How many years do you get to look forward to hearing that? (I'm sure it's gone by seventh grade.)
awww i love the mushies!
This is such a cute post...your kids are great. I remember back to school...ugh. I'm guessing #5 is the cookie winner : )
It's nice that you're sharing your "voice" with your kids. It's often fun to get glimpses of how someone else perceives the world: especially your own kids.
Wow! Italian. Thanks for sharing the comments. Great to get a laugh. Kids do say the greatest things.
Awesome! I love how your 4th grader thinks he can chill. Hilarious.
Ciao Kelly! Buona fortuna a tuo figlio.
Having studied Italian and lived in Italy, it is a beautiful language and country. The people are wonderful too!
I love the responses of your boys, especially the kindergarten one. It made me laugh.
Oh, I sure do miss those days when my girls actually missed me while they were at school and they couldn't wait to get in the door and give me a great big hug. Where did all that time go?!?
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog again today! You are such an incredible blessing to me. I appreciate it more than you will ever know. I sent you an email. I hope you get it. I also hope you and your precious family have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Teresa <><
You are wise to save thiese quotes! Years later you will look back on them with great joy.
"Mommy, I love coming home to you."
Too wonderful!!
That was just so sweet!!! I love the last comment... I would have given him two cookies.
