Tot Talk Tuesday

Here's the scenario. It sounded like the WWE was sponsoring an all out brawl in my downstairs play area. All thirty something pounds of Jillian marched over to the top of the stairs with her hands on her hips. She yelled down to her wild brothers, "How many times do I have to tell you guys to settle down? You don't want me coming down there and ending all your fun." I'll have to make a video of one of these Jillian Mama moments. At least, Jillian remembers what I say. She's like a walking tape recorder.

Jillian is my understudy Mama. I can count on her to corral those rambunctious boys :)

Jump over to The Monkeys and Me to see what all the tots have to say!

haha, a glimpse into her future I'm sure. I call Kaya, "mini mom" sometimes because of similar moments.
Oh, and the brawl scenario is so familiar to me!

That's cute...I think my sister felt the same way when she was growing up; I sometimes acted like I was a 2nd mom (bossy one too)

I love it - she totally is your understudy! Soon she'll be running the entire household!

Funny--I wonder if boys do this too or if it's a gender-matched thing. I haven't heard my oldest do that yet (but he's only 4 and there is only one other kiddo).

Okay this just made me laugh out loud. I love it!! My youngest brother used to do this when we were growing up. He was like my mom's mouthpiece when she wasn't around.

You definitely need to capture this on video!!

This is soooo cute! You must capture this to show it to her later ... and, of course, to us!

LOL! Adorable! My 2 year old sometimes tells ME what to do. "Mommy! Baby's cryin! He needs you!" Then its either "He's hungry!" or "Change his diaper!" I love when our babies turn into mommies!

Yes, walking tape recorders is a great way to describe it. That's why I turned to my husband and gave him the evil eye in the car yesterday when he uttered profanity at the vehicle in front of us. Because I know soon enough, Vivian will be saying those same dreadful things!

Great story. Thanks for sharing.

P.s. - I shipped your prize today. You should receive it by Friday (UPS ground).

Oh man...hilarious! My 5-year-old has become the second mom around here, too. She really knows how it works already. Cracks us up sometimes!

Hysterical! At least you know they heard you, she's the one who listens! lol

The wonder of Jillian's "tape recording" is that her brothers have one as well. Rest assured, they'll be able to play those tapes for decades! (Can't you hear your own parents?) You are getting through!

Too funny. When my sisters and I were small one of us had a teddy bear that recorded a small amount. You press it's hand, it would record, then play back immediately. We thought it was great fun to record her fussing at us. Especially because it would replay it immediately. So, it was like an echo. Needless to say, she did not find it humorous. What a good memory. What a funny little girl.

I love that. I pray to have an understudy one day. I love you new blog look. :)

That is hilarious (and yet disturbing?). I love how you have a backup for those times when you need to go take a bath and read a book but still need some parenting done in the house. What a cutie!

Growing up with only a younger brother made it easy - just make sure no adult was around to tell us not to do it. Guess we didn't need a surrogate?

Oh that is funny! Out of the mouths of babes...

Fantastic. I hope you got it on film.

Too cute! My 3 year old is constantly threatening to put her older sister in time out if she doesn't do what the little one wants. Hmmm, guess I use the time out threat a bit too often!
