Tot Talk Tuesday

It's time for another Tot Talk Tuesday, hosted by Niecey over at The Monkeys and Me. Head on over to Niecey's blog to find out what more tots have to say.

Look what Jillian had to say this week:

One day, Jillian picked up my latest book and flipped through the 300 + pages. She scrunched up her face as she said, "Mommy, the words are too tiny on these pages. Too many words for me. Where are the pictures? Mommy, you can borrow one of my books. I have just the right one for you. It's about a pretty princess." I wonder what Jillian would think if I told her I was reading a book about a pretty princess. Unfortunately, in my book, she literally loses her head!

Here's another part of a conversation with Jillian. When we are at the park, Jillian sometimes will worry about a toddler who may appear to be on his or her own. She will say, "Mommy, we have to find his Mommy. He misses her." I always have to point out the Mommy to Jillian so she can feel better and continue playing. I think she'll be a good Mommy someday :)

Happy Tuesday!

Yes, Jillian will be a good Mommy and a compassionate leader. Kids are beautiful. We need only retain our childlike qualities. "Except you become as a little child you shall not enter the Kingdom of God." I see the Kingdom of God as light and love. Lovely post.

Oh how sweet! You are raising such a great little girl. I love stuff like this.

I keep forgetting to tell you - every time I log into your blog, I smile when I see your beautiful flower at the top. Gorgeous!

It does sound like she is going to be an excellent mom someday. Sounds like she has a good example to follow!

I just love hearing what kids come up with. I might have to start participating in Tot Talk with my little one says more than "that" and "more please."

Awww, what a little sweetie. It's amazing how intuitive children can be about being careful and looking out for others. It's a sign of good mothering, my friend.

Septembermom...she sounds like a real cutie! I hope you tape record some of this from time to time....we have a few recordings of our son when he was about that age...the sound is priceless!

How sweet. When my kids see a baby crying they say, "that baby needs milk"

Ew about the princess decapitation.

Niecey's comment is so sweet. I actually laughed about the princess' decapitation. There was something there about the stark juxtaposition of fairytale and reality, even if it's not ours. But Lewis and Grimm can be pretty grim.

Reading the post, I also thought of the difference between adults and children with regards to our imagination. As adults we create images as we read having many already stored. I wonder if kids need images in order to create, hence, the necessity for pictures.

Just wondering.

You've already created a caring heart in her!

And I do agree with her about some of those 300+ page books.

How sweet! When my kids were young we didn't have a computer so I used to write all cute things they said on pieces of paper and put them in a shoe box. Someday I will organize it and put them all together as a gift to them.

I also want to know who you are reading about...

Lol!!! Too cute! What princess are you reading about? Is it a historical novel?

How cute--it's amazing how little girls learn so quickly to be concerned for others! I wish my boys had a little more of that quality!

That is so sweet. The tot talk features are my favorite! Glad to know that she is watching out for those poor, "motherless" toddlers! :)
