Friday High Five

Friday really sneaks up on me. I'm ready to add my Friday High Five to Angela's list over at Angela's Adventures and Minor Mishaps. Visit Angela to join in the fun :)

FIVE QUESTIONS THAT I WOULDN'T MIND
NOT ANSWERING ANYMORE

  1. Do I have to? This applies to almost every situation with kids: homework, general hygiene, eating healthy food, sharing, bedtime, etc.
  2. Do you really need me to go too? My husband's predictable question whenever I need him to help me at the supermarket, the mall, the park, the pool, etc.
  3. Where is all the food? My typical response to the kids: There is a full pantry and fridge. No McDonald's here today.
  4. Where are my sneakers? There is always at least one kid who doesn't put his or her shoes in the usual spot. Hunting for sneakers can be an exhausting task.
  5. Don't you have any more pencils? You should see how many pencils I buy throughout the school year. Do the kids eat them at school?
Happy Friday everyone!

Re: #5 - it could be that your kids are like the Son at that age. He rented his calculators and pencils to his class mates and let dear old dad (me) pick up the inventory shrinkage. At least until I caught on. He even had different prices for the class period rental versus the all day rental.

I have to side with your hubby - do I *really* have to go?

And finally, to the heck with the sneakers, I just want to know where my keys are. Any clue?

I just may scream the next time I hear my 13 year old son ask, "Where are my shoes?" Holy cow, this has been going on for YEARS. Geez.

Oh and you have three boys and if they're anything like all the guys I know - my brothers, shaune etc, they can NEVER find anything!! How you stay sane is a miracle:)

Lol!! We just had one of our professors retire, and, no joke, she left over 100 pens in her office!!! We'll never have to buy writing utensils again!

Actually, I think you're pretty blessed if you can keep your "Where's my" limited to sneakers. If I never heard "where's my" ANYthing anymore, I'd be thrilled ;)

#1, #5 Glad I'm not the only one. Especially the hygiene part 0_O

We seem to have an issue with scotch tape and needing more. Love the list!

Your #5 for us would be for notepaper, near the phone. It's never there, and when I have to jot something down, a date, time, message, I'm panicked for something to write on!

Have a nice weekend ...

This is a great list. (As a teacher, I'm amazed how much good education is lost due to not having a pencil readily available.)

Now as the positive contrarian, I pose a new query: Five Questions I Wish Someone Would Ask Me...

Like,

Mom, would you like some help with that?
or
Honey, can I take over while you catch a nap?

That sort of think. Dream on!

Sounds like you have gremlins in your house - notorious for stealing shoes and pencils!

For some reason you wouldn't pull up for me Friday but I am here today!! I hate all of those questions! I always here: There's nothing to eat! REALLY is that why I pay so much for groceries!! You are right if it isn't McDs they think there is no food!! Pencils.....I think my stepson has a "stick the pencil in my pocket" addiction since I find like 3 or 4 everytime I pull some of his clothes out of the dryer!! My most bothersome question is "why?" or "where are my...?" I like Don's theory of asking me if I need help! Let start those habits now!!

Along the lines of #4 (but a question I really enjoyed), Pete couldn't find her shoes one day a few years ago and came to me and asked, "Mom? Where is the one place I haven't looked yet?"

Great list!

Love this list!!! And the answer to 1 and 2 should always be YES shouted at the top of the lungs!

What a great list for Friday High Five! I can definitely see how everyone of those questions could easily become quite annoying.
