Chocolate

You don't see many bumper stickers anymore. I saw a great one yesterday at the supermarket parking lot. In nice, bold letters, this driver shares with all: "I'll dance for chocolate!" A quick image of a mom tap dancing in front of a hat filled with chocolate came to my mind as I loaded the minivan with groceries. I'm always pleased to come across someone else who shares my chocolate obsession. I've gone on my chocolate scavenger hunts when my pantry is surprisingly free of anything chocolate. Would I dance for a piece of chocolate cake at that moment? Good chance!

I'm playing along with Mommy Nintendo's poetry challenge over at The Itsy Bitsy Monkey. Hopefully, I'll be inspired with some "poetic ideas" during this month. Today and everyday, chocolate is on my mind.

Chases away mommy stress

Heaven sent on hectic days

Own special dessert time

Chips, chunks, crumbs

Offer judiciously

Love that pudding

Always a treat

Tempts me daily

Everybody wants a bite.

I wonder if my son ate those last two cookies. I know that it's 11 a.m., but a girl can't fight this calling all the time!

Enjoy your day! I'm off to my son's kindergarten show today. It should be fun :)

I'm not crazy about chocolate (feel free to call me a freak) but I do love bumper stickers. When I was in college a friend and I used to make our own and place them on unsuspecting vehicles.

Enjoy the show!

Enjoy the show! It should definitely be charming. I'm with you on the chocolate thing. But I love dancing so I would probably dance if someone just asked - I might do a back flip for chocolate though!

Strangely, my child does not like chocolate. I keep offering it but he doesn't seem interested. I'm beginning to worry he's not related to me!

Mmmm... chocolate. I have to get my daily fix of the dark stuff. We keep it stocked up in the cupboard.

A gal after my own heart. I loves me some good chocolate, dark and Swiss preferably. But only in spurts otherwise I feel ill.
Have fun at the show!

Very clever. I only get a craving once in a rare while, but I can't resist a piece of See's candy if offered.

as I bounce around the mom blogs, I'm stunned at how many people are able to write poetry. It is completely lost on me, but I love it. I even get daily poems sent via NPR Garrison Keillor.

Wellll I might dance for chocolate. But I won't eat just *any* chocolate. I need GOOD chocolate. Belgian is even better. Or swiss. Mmmm hazelnut truffles. Ahhhh.

So glad you decided to join Mommy Nintendo's challenge. I don't think she gave me any points for sending you! :)

Cute poem. It struck me if you changed
Own special dessert time to
Owns special dessert time that you might have a them for a whole other chocolate poem.

The last line is my favorite.

Too cute! I had a great day and better evening listening to the poetry and performance of Saul Williams, in words and song, accompanied by a single jazz bassist, John Clayton. Very nice, very nice indeed. How was your son's show? Kids are the best!

I am right there with you on the chocolate! It is my sweetest tempatation and vice. I know I would weigh much much less if it wasn't in my life!
