My ten year old son was born with a ton of black hair. My first response when I saw him, "Here's our little Elvis." I still tend to call him that nickname every once in a while.
Today as we worked on his math homework, he asked me, "Mom, is it cool to be called Elvis? What was so great about him?"
Here's my answer.
I'll dance now over to my ravioli :)
Elvis was a great and loving artist, not to mention that he was so very good looking. Wow! Love him!
ReplyDeleteElvis defines cool. Does your little one sing and dance too? So nice to connect with you through Beth.
ReplyDeleteHe was one of a kind! Love him!
ReplyDeleteGood answer! He was definitely cool!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't get much cooler than Elvis. And I hope you were dancing over to your ravioli in a pair of blue suede shoes ;)
ReplyDeleteI grew up listening to Elvis because my little brother is a FANatic! Even today he gets $$$ impersonating Elvis in Karaoke bars. You brought back some memories!
ReplyDeleteMan! What a good lookin' guy! He was just a little before my time as a teenager (I was a Beatle girl), but I can sure appreciate him now!
ReplyDeletehaha, Love it!! So cute. Yeah, it's a cool nickname :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute nickname and what a compliment! Your son has no idea. You should show him some videos of Elvis. I'm sure once he gets older, he'll like the nickname : )
ReplyDeleteYes, Elvis was quite the looker! Definitiely a compliment, at least in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI can only hope that your son liked the video and agrees that it's cool to be Elvis. Of course my son came out all hairy and we worried he was going to end up the only 5 year old needing to wear a t-shirt in the pool. Luckily, that all fell out AND we didn't start calling him monkey boy. I like Elvis a lot better ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, you need to teach your son about the coolest musician ever~ Just before Bono of course!
ReplyDeleteHe was smooth! My uncle does a great impersonation of him. Sings just like him. i love it!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Elvis! My mom always had his music playing when I was a kid - she still has it playing and gets an Elvis calender every year, too! Definite coolness!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ELVIS! I remember being super young and thinking he was SO good looking. I probably had no idea he was even dead!
ReplyDeleteSix years ago I visited Gracelands,Elvis's home. It was an expereience I shall never forget, it was fantastic and walking around the graves of Elvis and his family was awe inspiring.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the read very much.
Yvonne.
He's the best!!!!!!!!!!! Good lesson for your son to learn! You've put me in an excellent mood this morning listening to this song. Thanks so much for posting it :)

Beautiful :) :) Thanks A Lot For Sharing Dear :) :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we first got cable when I was growing up I watched my first Elvis movie with my mom... and for the first time totally saw here swoon... now that's powerful! I've loved the music and movies ever since!
ReplyDeleteI'll share this with Dad. I grew up in a house that had Elvis music on all the time. In fact, this coming up Friday, my family and I are going to a performance of a guy singing Elvis' song.. supposedly it's the only person that the Presley family will allow to represent Elvis in movies. Should be very entertaining!
ReplyDeleteYay! Way to go Mom. Let The King show em' how it's done!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I love it...and who doesn't love The King?!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you Kelly!
You're such a cool mom!
ReplyDeleteSeptembermom...if he grows up to be another Elvis...you and hubby can retire in luxury!
ReplyDeleteDan
So cool! Love it!!

It is amazing at the continuing influence he has on people. I have seen this clip a gazillion times, but guess what,, I had to click. It is playing now.. Your blog is kinda like that,,:)
ReplyDeleteI remember Elvis. Of course, he was really my mom's generation, but I grew up listening to him and watching his movies.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if people would say now that he was probably ADHD?
My grandmother loved Elvis, when he passed away she was devastated and she was old enough to be his mother!
