5 minute blog post

I'm sitting here with my wet hair in a towel eating rice krispies.  I know, what an image!  Here are a few random thoughts as I enjoy this 5 minutes of "me" time before getting the two youngest on the bus.

  • I would love to be one of those amazingly organized and festive Christmas decorators.  I don't think it's a destined role for me.  As long as the kids don't wrap each other up in garland, I'm happy.
  • My 25th high school reunion is on Friday.  Fancy event: it will be held in my high school cafeteria :) I'll keep the tiara at home. It should be good for a few laughs. Hoping to organize some karaoke.
  • During my three hour kid break in the morning, I seem to be at Jillian's school all the time with my volunteer gigs.  The morning flies by.  Her smile is worth all the work.
  • The jewelry party was fun.  I'll show off my complimentary necklace soon :)
  • My mashed potatoes came out perfect on Thanksgiving.  Now that's an accomplishment for this Irish gal. I make them every holiday and this is the first time that they were (quoting Gordon Ramsay) "spot on."
  • Better run and find a pair of pants. I can't go to the school in this beat up old robe.

Hugs to you all.  Now where is my mousse to control this ever expanding hairdo of mine?  Did I just write "hairdo?" I'm dating myself once again.

I'm not very organized when it comes to holiday decorating. My mom and sister go to great lengths, decorating every room in their homes - it always looks so nice and festive. I guess that particular gene skipped over me, LOL! They also both have already completed all their Christmas shopping.

I'm fitting right in with both of you...although I love to see everyone's homes decorated, it doesn't happen here. We went to get out tree on Sunday, let it rest for the night and began decorating it last night.

Now...I should be cleaning up the mess around me, decorating a little bit and instead...I'm thinking of how I want to rearrange this madness of home that I live in.

We had to move things around a bit to accommodate our tree and now, I'm feeling cluttered.

Great batch of randoms, fun to read like that. Have a great day.

{oh...my main goal was to move my body when I came home from the school bus run this morning - see, I am the driver, along with my own three, I pick up a full load ---but, I started cleaning and now am surrounded by mess, more so than I was to begin with)

I say hairdo, too, and I'm 28!! =)

I'm not good with Christmas decor. I try...but I don't succeed as well as a friend of mine. Her house looks like one in the magazines!!

Christmas! I am not ready to decorate for Christmas yet! I just got my fall decor up! :) Have fun at your reunion.

We don't own much Christmas decor....just never bought any. We do have lots of ornaments though...so our tree is pretty. And a couple years ago we made a couple pretty paper chains with Christmas patterned scrapbook paper. We hang them in doorways and such. Cheap and cute! LOL!

Oh I dunno, I think bringing the tiara to a 25th reunion in a cafeteria would be an absolute hoot! You'd be a total hit. I think you should go for it.

I totally see you as ElastaGirl. I missed that last post. I am glad your party went well and I love the imagery of you in a towel thinking about your hairdo and eating cereal. Wonderful writing and you probably were only trying a little.

As I live alone I don't decorate at Christmas as I usually spend it with my daughter, I shall also spend Spanish Christmas with my son in Spain , they celebrate on Jan, 6th.

Thanks for that comedic image. I love your self-deprecating style of humor. :) You are my kinda gal. Hope the rest of your week is a blessed one.

I just love how real you are … that is why I relate to you. Wow … 25 years! Mine passed too but I didn't go. Have so much fun!

Okay, so what's the alternative word for hairdo? It sounds as if life is fun as well as busy. Hope you manage some time out before Christmas. Hugs.

My heart melts at the thought of Jillian's proud smile that her mommy is in her class. I love your honesty and humour my friend!

Pants? All mine are dirty. (Great excuse to stay in my jammies.) Ha!

Our house looks homey. I am no Martha Stewart, though I fancy myself to be. *wink*
