Will it take me another 14 years to figure out this whole parenting thing?

Shouldn't I be the only one with PMS in my house? Is it some kind of change in the planets that is bringing out the moodiness in my boys? I survive one moodiness episode, and then another moody boy steps up to the plate. I'm learning that these moody times pass quickly. Some days, it feels like there is one moody tremor on top of the other. I'm trying to ignore most of it, and let it pass. Not every episode is worth a battle. Usually, they get back to normal once they are fed. (I'm thinking of keeping meatballs in my pockets and aiming for the boys' open mouths like they are moody lions or something. LOL)

Here is Jillian's solution: "Mommy, can't we just trade them in for 3 sisters? We could play fairy princesses all day!"

Crazy, crazy, crazy week! First, the fire trucks roaring down the street. Then a lacrosse ball mysteriously broke my side mirror. To make things even more tense in my household, my oldest son managed to break a garage window and annoy my husband even more. Apparently failing to look sophisticated, I looked like a ravenous animal when I scoffed down a ridiculously tiny sliver of chocolate cake in front of dainty PTA parents. Hey, this girl needed her chocolate!! I'll be by later to say hello to everyone :)

Oh, Kelly. You always communicate your frustrations in a humorous way. Hope the various moods chillax for the weekend to give you a break. :)

I think it must be something in the alignment of the planets for sure. Maybe we are all upset that the Rapture really didn't happen?

Everyone I know (me included) seems to be having one of these weeks. I think I manged to forget something important every day this week, got locked out of my truck, blah blah blah..

Its good to see that you still keep your wonderful sense of humor through it all, even if you might still look like a crazed, ravenous animal as you walk through the world. ;-)

It'll pass...when they marry! Don't despair, Kelly as the time will fly by. I actually miss those days when the boys were a real pain in the neck.

I had a delivery of sand and cement today, but Bev took the house keys and I was locked in. I had to shout instructions through an upstairs window.

Rough week. Maybe you need to take Jillian up on her offer. Although, the thought of 4 girls in the house might make you change your mind. There would not be enough chocolate to go around!

Hugs. Hopefully next week will be less eventful and less full of damage. We're replacing a window in our house and they are expensive. No summer vacation for us this year.

I'm blaming all the crap on the end of the school year..It makes kids crazy!

Sounds like our house. Minus the broken windows....but add a few other types of mishaps. Summer is just around the corner and it will be better then, right?

I thought Jillian's solution to trade her brother's for girls was hilarious! You're right, as mother's we deserve to be the only ones in the household with PMS! Missed reading your blog!

Great sense of humor! Teens and pre-teens and who says girls are the only emotional ones? :)

Fourteen more years?, my girls are in their forties and there are still emotional surprises!

Life is full of stories are yours are real.

Thank you for sharing.

I can only imagine the mooods you deal with daily. And I am a strong believer that men have their own version of PMS. I've seen it in action around here!

What a week you've had. I'm so glad you are unapologetic about eating chocolate. I never say no to a piece of cake or some other sweet treat. Life's too short!

Thank you so much for coming by the Yummy Mummy site and leaving your beautiful warm hug of a comment!

Meatballs in a your pocket would just solve so many problems. And moms need their chocolate!!! PTA be damned!

You never know, Jillian might be onto something ;-) I think it's the time of year, though ... my middle schoolers are totally DONE and are regressing. SERIOUSLY regressing lol.

A woman on a radio station said, "women have periods, men have commas." I think she hit the nail right on the head. Bless you.

My first reaction was to say ignore it, but it's not that simple when it's all around you. I like the idea of keeping meatballs handy.

I'm enjoying this "Day In The Life" post. The thing is, you keep it real and say it like it is. Hoping you have a restful holiday weekend :)

OMG! Meatballs in your pocket! So funny, but so true!
Oh Lord, what you don't want is 4 drama queens. They're all hard. They're all dealing with "stuff".
They just don't realize that you do too.
Hang in there Mama, you're doing a great job!

"Not every episode is worth a battle." So true. And sometimes it is much better to pick our battles.

I'm casting a big sigh for you! Hang in there!

Chocolate fixes all Kelly-well, at least it feels like it should! My daughter and I both had big doses of the stuff this weekend-maybe you could give some to the boys? Does it work on the male species? :)
