Getting the word out about parent involvement to stop bullying

Happy Sunday everyone! For examiner.com, I wrote an article about how parents could help counter the bullying problem in today's schools. For this site, I'm only allowed to write a very short article due to word count restrictions. If you get the chance, I would love to hear your thoughts about this subject. Thanks for your kind compliments about the photos in the prior post.

"Parents could form a bridge between bullies and their victims"

(By the way, I get paid pennies for this gig. I've written 9 articles so far, and I have made a whopping $1.50!!!)

I'll visit you all soon! Thanks for reading :)

Great article and suggestions for combatting the problem. I think a task force made up of parents is an excellent idea!

parent involvement, trumps Money, in every situation with kids,,,bullying, i believe, is one of the main "drags" on our youth today. there are many kinds of bullying, but your help with awareness puts you in the "SuperMom" catagory.

Go you - I love the idea of the parents being involved, as not only do they provide a staffing for programs, but they know the kids and the kids know them and those relationships - and awareness - help keep things moving in a positive direction. Go you!

That is why there are bullies. So many parents are letting the TV raise their children. I am so proud of ya, Kel. Loved reading my pal who is famously published now. Today examiner.com, tomorrow the world. Bwa ha ha ha

Great article. You are right, parents should get involve and not rely on overworked and overburdened teachers and school staff. I also think that by-standers be encouraged to come forward without consequences to them, and the parents must be well-informed by the school when bullying is happening. There should be no denying from the school. So that the parents can do something about it, implement the task force. AT most times, the school keeps a hush-hush on the bulling happening in their school, and the parent has no clue until it's too late.

I loved the article! And the others!! I had no idea you were doing this. It sucks to not be paid but I'm so happy you're spreading your talent. I think it will pay off, I really do. I got nothing for my piece in that anthology but I feel good knowing I'm trying to get my writing out. I'm so proud of you Kelly! And it's seriously good writing!!
