T is for Traveling

"Mama, your pocket is singing."

I'm wearing a big, fuzzy, pink bathrobe while I straighten up around here. (I'm sure that Pamela Anderson wears the same one at home. LOL)

I have found the perfect traveling buddy for me to help me get through my chores. My son gave me a $6 speaker attachment for my MP3 player. Now I can have Norah Jones or Dave Matthews or the Beatles or Tina Turner or Sting or Stevie Wonder or Beethoven serenading me as I fold the laundry, make beds, or load the dishwasher. Instead of wearing the earbuds, I like the idea of my music surrounding me while I move from room to room. It's fun to see the kids' reaction when I start to rock around the house to one of my favorites. Music can travel with me anytime. I like how it puts an added spring in my step.

Whether the kids like it or not, they are getting an earful of my kind of music education. Watch out kids, mama and her music may be traveling your way. I can hear my oldest son turning up his rap music now. Hmmm, maybe I should start traveling around here with rap music too. That's a way to get my teenager's attention. He'll ask me to "travel" the other way when his pals come to hang out. I guess he's afraid I'll "bust a move." I'll wind up busting something else most likely.

Turn up that music everyone!! Your spirit will thank you :)

(I look like a pink, fuzzy bear in that bathrobe. What a look for this slightly "older" groupie!)

That pink, fuzzy robe sounds nice and comfy. To me, that's all that matters. :) I LOVE to clean the house to music. There isn't a day that goes by that it isn't playing in our house at some point. I've recently found that if I play music for the boys from some of their favorite movies/cartoons, they are more willing to help. There's something to be said about a good stream of tunes to get you going. :)

I'm not a big fan of ear buds either. Great idea. I'll have to try that one.

We always have something on the radio here. The kids love the music and often it soothes the savage toddler as well as the savage mama!

I am so glad my daughter doesn't listen to rap.
She likes my kind of music. Music makes housework get done quicker.

I would love your MP3 with a speaker. I just put on a CD and listen that way!
The pink bathrobe sounds good too!

Haha, this was cute. And I'm sure Pamela Anderson so wears a pink fuzzy bathrobe while doing...er...chores. :) Music is definitely a great motivator for housework. Makes it less laborious somehow. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I remember when I first learned how to do the head tilt and hand gestures like Eminem! I would do it in front of my kids and they would crack up!
Music makes everything easier, or at least more enjoyable!

Oh I think he's more worried about that pink fuzzy bathrobe if he has friends over than he is you busting a move ;)

Thanks for the reminder that my earbuds bit the dust and I need new ones STAT!

I love that music is such a saviour for you. What a wonderful gift! Any time I put on 'my' music lately Deaglan tells me to turn it down. What a kid!

That's genius really! To have music around you where ever you are, through a music player and speaker you can travel, carry around with you.

I got a little portable speaker for my iPod for Christmas and it does help to blast my tunes when cleaning the bathroom! I found I could t do the headphone thing while cleaning but the speakers work great! Rock on!!!
