Back in the saddle again

I just finished combing through Jillian's Rapunzel inspired hair. That was a long 20 minutes of gentle tugging. I remember those days when my mom tried to get through my tangled up head of curls. Now I see what a workout she must have had each time she tackled my crazy head.

The boys will be rambling on home soon. My dining room table will be full of textbooks, notebooks, worksheets, and probably miscellaneous snacks. The happy chaos will continue until my husband walks in around 6:30. Today is a tough day because it's the 1 year anniversary of his losing his job. It's funny how I didn't make the connection to the date - Ides of March. That second loss of a job in 4 years did feel like a stab in the back. Anyway, we're glad that he has the temp job for now. Fingers crossed that they hire him permanently. They seem to like the whole consultant approach to hiring.

I want to put on my poet's cap again, now that jury duty is over. I need a little creativity to get me going again. I want to work out a poem or two that's brewing. I'm still hanging out over at Write With Pictures if you want to stop by and say hello. Let me know if you think I should change things up over there. Should I change any of the writing prompts?

Glad to have you back!

The Ides of March, reek havoc sometimes! I too hope your hubby lands a permanent job.

I have such compassion for families, with young children, trying to make their way in the economy. But where there is love, all can be well.

You can always mix up the prompts at Write With Pictures. We need shaking up don't we?

I think a big issue with everyone now is time. Personally I don't have as much free time since moving back with my former husband. It is taking getting used too. Life's a trade off, we can't do it all!..can we?

When my quite time and meditations are hampered, my muse slips out the door and back through the veil. Perhaps soon I will arrange more time.

Wishing all the best things to find the way into your life.

I like your writing prompts - especially the ones with 10 words or less. Helps me stretch to make every word count. Wish I could participate more. Spring break is coming up so maybe next week.

I hope you are enjoying the non-jury duty time. And we'll add some prayers for hubby getting a permanent job.

Soon my table will be filled with textbooks and snacks as well. :)

I'm still praying for you and your husband that he finds permanent employment as well. You both seem to be taking all of this in stride, and I admire you for that.

As far as Write With Pictures is concerned, now that I'm back, I'll try and hop over there regularly. I have a feeling that these prompts could be just what I need to keep me disciplined enough to write something everyday.

Oh, and one other thing, I like the look of your page! It's been a while since I've seen you last, but it is nice to see all of these happy colors.:)

Kelly's Back! Yay! I'm not looking forward to the day I have to regularly comb my daughter's hair. She has so little right now and I kind of like just giving it a quick brushing.I'm sending some job fairy dust your husband's way!

I can remember having my mother pulling and tugging on my tangles of long hair. What conditioner we had "back then" didn't work so well!
A temp job is a job, and that's what matters right now, right?

I hadn't heard about your husband's temp job. Will be praying that it sticks and he goes permanent. :O)

Wow. A whole year has gone by. That is hard to believe. I will keep my fingers crossed that temp becomes perm.

Whoo hoo! Yay to the temp job (ok, so now I'm behind!). So glad to hear that he's working. And take the curls. It's MUCH better than the nonexistent hair of Little Miss. I'd trade you in a heartbeat.

Haven't been here in a while. I like the "new" look. It makes some of the art work "pop." Good news on the job front. Yeah!

I wish the best for you too. I love the way the business of family living continues regardless, and how you view it has a bearing on how you enjoy it.
You seem to have mastered the right attitude to life even though at times you must wonder.
Have a great day.

I can't believe it's been a year! Hope your hubby does get a permanent post. Okay, Kelly, time to get cracking on creative work, we're all anxious to see some of it. Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my blog, I really appreciate them.

I have those knot issues with Deaglan even though he has straight hair. It's from sleeping on his back. I used to look at other kids with that messy snarl of hair at the back and wonder what was wrong with their parents for letting the kid out of the house like that. Now I'm that parent:)

Happy chaos:) The hiring here is really into that one year at a time thing too. At our work there are many more temp jobs than permanent. I hope this changes soon and Grant gets something good and permanent.

I like your prompts but I'm more of a verbal person. Sometimes I need a word or two - so I find it a bit harder with just the pictures. Yesterday I looked at that picture of the sunset and shade over that statue and couldn't write. I didn't know that about myself, how auditory I really am until recently.

Shaune's off this week so there is always a tug of war for computer time too!

The Ides of march- ironic! Fingers crossed that he gets hired!

I like your writing prompts too, iti s hard for me to participate since my computer time is so limited lately, but I love reading them!

Hi Septembermom,

I'm glad to hear your thoughts and look forward to your inspiring poetry. I'm glad your husband has a temp job and hope he will be hired full time. I'll see what's happening at Write With Pictures. I think a Mr. Linky may be helpful so people can drop in on other blogs. You should consider it. Take Care!!

I can empathize with your husband. I lost my job 2 years ago. I'd worked for that employer for about 35 years. Jobs are scarce around where I am and now the unemployment has run out. Something good is on the way I'm sure.

Glad you joined up in the A to Z Challenge.

Jury duty, now that sounds like an interesting topic for a poem.
Hope Hubby's job works out long term for him. I love the decription of textbooks lying on the table etc. :O)
