I'm a month late...don't get nervous

My husband almost choked on his cookie when I told him the first half of this post title. I'm happy to report that my cookie is happily adding to my sugar happiness right now.

It's February already, and I'm a month late in setting some goals for this new year. I admire my fellow bloggers who categorize their goals and share their aspirations with such determination and enthusiasm. I warn you now that my goal list will be thrown together right on the spot. After cleaning up snow puddles all over my floor (yet another snow day for the kids), I'm enjoying these few minutes of venting, sharing and hanging with all of you.

Time to stand up to the blog mike and think of my top ten goals for 2011. Wait, I have to stop and run over to give more crackers to Jillian. Thanks for waiting. I'm back! Let's see what jumps into this old noggin as a good set of goals for me.

  • Fix my treadmill, or at least reposition it so that I remember its existence.

  • Consider a hairstyle change. I've had the same look since the 90's.

  • Read a whole book in one week. I have to get sneaky with my reading time. Maybe I can balance a book on a pot while I stir my tomato sauce?

  • Dust off my French review book. Can I trade my Bronx accent for a French one? Or should I go for a hybrid accent and impress my Bronx friends and most likely annoy any Parisian who crosses my path? Oh I'm sure to be going to a French cafe soon. LOL

  • Imagine that there is a tattoo on my forehead that says "PATIENCE, MAMA! JUST BREATHE THROUGH THE CRAZINESS!"

  • Purchase a Hello Dolly style gardening hat and actually grow something in my yard. The challenge will be for me to keep it alive. That could be on next year's list.

  • After writing my weekly grocery list, keep the pencil handy and write a poem. Watch I'll start thinking about peanut butter as my Muse!

  • Put the laptop on my lap for nighttime blog catch up when I'm watching Jillian fall to sleep. I need to keep these eyes open during that free time so I can say hello to all of you!

  • Put my to do lists into action. I want to organize; I need to organize. Maybe I need an organizing coach or something. Doesn't Oprah have one that she can share?

  • Come on Kel! Can't you make the last one serious? Maybe I'll be more reflective in 2012. Anyway, here is my final goal: Discover 20 more ways to make chocolate desserts.

Miss Jillian is here, and my tiny boss is telling me that it's Nick Jr. time on the computer. Time to kick Mama off. She said, "That's enough Mama." Maybe I should have put a spa trip on my goals list...

Dusting off those exercise machines seems to be a common malady. Entertaining post.

Here, I'll add it for you -

Addendum - Spa day for Kelly.

I think the chocolate desserts one is my favorite, though.

Yes! You should put a spa trip on your list- so that I can come too!! I love how accessible your list is, who knows you may just be the one to pull it off!

I don't think anyone deserves a spa day more than you. ANd it was was such a wonderful surprise when I heard your bronx accent! I'm jealous that you have a treadmill. I feel so snowed in and I need to get some of these pounds off and having one indoors would be perfect. Ahh but maybe that's just my grass is always greener attitude. Maybe I wouldn't use it. I like Vicky's idea though, let's leave the kids behind and go on a spa day!

Anyone that can put together a list of goals receives accolades from me ;) My goal list is floating around in the gray matter of my brain, probably lost forever lol.

Funny, I didn't imagine you with a Bronx accent! Hahaha!
If you can't do the spa, at least a once a week hot bath with no interuptions? Calgon....

Ha! Good job with the title! When I saw your new post show up in my sidebar, I hurried over here to tell you congratulations. No wonder your husband was choking on his cookies! And I will patiently wait for 20 different chocolate recipes. :)

Now, if you had a memory like mine you would forget half the goals... not a bad thing actually as too many can upset the spirit. I agree about the spa day, that would be ESSENTIAL.

*snarf* *snicker* Really? The treadmill isn't placed there as a decoration? YOU'RE REALLY SUPPOSED TO USE THAT THING? And what are goals? Something they make in basketball?

Nick Jr. time is a hoot. I miss those days. Mine are too big now. Wonder if they'll get on just to make Mommy happy.

Love this post. You're soooo cool. :)

I think all you goals are doable. If I had a treadmill it would become a coat rack. I think this is why hubs never let me get a power gym.

Whoa, the blog title kind of threw me too! I never heard an accent in your VLOG, you sound like a California girl to me!

I must say as a fellow blogger with curly hair too, it is so hard to find other types of hair styles!

I just love your list!! I think some lists are too serious and that's the problem. Go for it girl, it's a list you can conquer! :)

Well done, Kelly! And it's a perfect reminder for me to check what goals I set myself for the year. We had our goals evening with friends but I can't remember what I set myself even though they should be things I really want to do.
With regards to your goals...what will you do for the second week? (Just kidding!)

We need a photo of the new hairdo AND regular updates on how you are doing with the rest.

Have you finished with the idea of vlogging? You should have included at least one vlog a month for 2011.

ps, I liked the old hairdo.

I did get a little excited when I read this title! Excellent resolutions!

You're supposed to walk on the treadmill? LOL! Seriously Kelly, I love your list-you always make me smile! Hey, do what I do about reading a book-start reading young adult fiction with your kids. You will be doing what I'm doing-reading in bed until almost 12 because you can't put the book down! (I am sooo tired, but it feels so good to sink my teeth in a book!!)
