I feel, therefore I blog...philosophy and potatoes

Who are you when you sit down to blog? I feel like the most "me" when I come here. When I'm most stressed, I feel pulled towards the blog. All of my daily hats just drop to the floor and I speak, breathe, laugh and just "be" here. Do you know what I mean?

Case in point: I needed to put my potato peeler down to post these thoughts right now. A daily blog fix is definitely not a bad thing. Side note: It's funny how I often tell you that I'm peeling potatoes. Looks like I don't stray far from my Irish roots. It also is apparent that I don't worry about the calories in my huge side dish of mashed potatoes :)

Don't tell my husband that this is why dinner will be 15 minutes late. I'll give him an extra helping of potatoes and he'll be happy.

Love you all!

I know exactly what you mean :) I come here to find myself, the stripped down, unworrying, unvarnished me that just has something to say.

Happy you join me in those same feelings...

I second Vicky's and your sentiment. Blogging def works as a true outlet to express ourselves. And if you could find a way to send some of those potatoes my way, that'd by nice too :)

R there any potatoes left because they are my weakness.

Hey, I would eat potatoes with almost every meal if I could get away with it and yes, the Irish background is probably the reason... I agree with you when you talk about opening up on your blog-I seem to do my best soul searching sitting and typing.

We all need a break from peeling potatoes and we're just glad you spend your breaks with us.

I hear ya Irish...I know what you mean... maybe the fact I have Irish heritage too, is why I love potatoes and bread so much!?

Good point Kelly. I'm also most my "Self" when I write or blog. That's when I'm Just Judy, not Judy the wife, the daughter, the sister, the aunt, the...well, the everything that everyoe else needs me to be!

And mashed potatoes! Yum! I could eat them every day, with loads of butter. Yum.

You've made me regret the decision to bake the potatoes today. Creamy mash is my favourite. I don't have Irish roots, only connections. I suppose I do relax more when blogging, never really thought about it before.

An accurate and honest post Kelly. I feel the same.

Well, DID you make it to the bookstore on your birthday?

When I sit down to blog, I too, am the most me. The masks(that we sometimes feel we need.) and hats are thrown down on the floor by the computer. And it is just Robyn and her blogging buds, that perhaps understand her in ways no one else can. I love this post.

I'm always peeling potatoes, too. My Irish roots also. And we won't tell. We love you so very, very much, Kelly. I'm so thankful for the day you and I met. :)

I am most 'me' when I am writing. Anything. That's blogging, journaling, a letter to a friend, etc. I say often, if you want to see my heart, read what I write. I love and cook potatoes every single week too, and I'm not even Irish. (Clearly, lol!) Anyhow, potatoes are just.plain.yummy. :)

I know what you mean ... so what does it mean that I've "lost that blogging feeling" for the past few weeks?

Michelle said...

Yep, the blogging keeps me sane. Although when I look at my email inbox I sometime hyperventilate....

And those potatoes? I'm all good with that! Except that the wee ones are unfortunately not huge fans (what's wrong with them, I want to know!).

I'm not sure...I have to think about this question a bit more...
